CSHIRKY  There are two distinctions made between versions of BitPim 1.06 for the Mac -- PPC vs. Intel, and Tiger vs. Leopard.

I run an Intel/Tiger combination on my Mac (MacBook and 10.4.11), and I got the same error, which I think happens b/c the Intel build is actually not for all Intel machines, but for Intel/Leopard only. It seems to be fixed when I use the PPC/Tiger version instead. (I say 'seems to' because I don't get the sqlite error and it runs, presumably in emulation mode, but I haven't yet fully tested it for later bugs.)

CSHIRKY  I'm not convinced there _is_ an Intel version, which is to say that what is called the Intel version may in fact just be for Intel Macs running Leopard.

TOOMACX  Thanks for the replies! The downloads I used were the PPC versions. I have of course downloaded the latest "TIGER-bitpim-1.0.6.ppc.dmg" but it won't work either. (but It does Launch) I'm Using "/dev/cu.BT-LGVX8560" for the port w/ the new LG Chocolate. Also tried using the USB. I can't read the filesystem, & when I try to get wallpapers or anything from the phone I get a bunch of errors.(see below) Please know that I LOVE this app & I'm not complaining...(The price is right & Thank-You) I miss being able to use it & I'm sure others who may be having the same problems do to. Apple's "Bluetooth File Exchange" works great for transferring music, pictures & sounds BUT can't backup the phone's entire filesystem or do all BitPim can. Also, phone detection @ startup fails? Says No phone detected/recognized.

BABYFETT  I did that, but as a precaution, as always, I did an Easy Find search and there's about a dozen "hidden" files and when I tried to trash them they're suddenly in a "hidden trash" folder and I can't get rid of them.

JETFIREDX  Yup... Intel is under Rosetta is unstable as it can get. My buddy just bought a new LG phone and we checked it out on his PPC machine along with my phone from Samsung. On the PPC G4 they worked almost perfectly, importing / exporting contacts, adding wall papers (though the cropping tool is unstable there as well), editing and copying ring tones, etc. On Intel I was barely able to browse the filesystem and half the time the program would crash on load.

A really great tool on PowerPC Macs though.

M PREWITT  How did you establish communication? I have a Samsung SCH-a930 too, but every time I try to download from the phone, I get a series of error messages in the log:

JETFIREDX  I believe I told it that I was using the A950...I read somewhere that was the best way to do it. I will try again with this new version and see if it behaves better under Rosetta.

(BTW BitPim works great with Windows running on Parallels with my Mac... until there is a Mac intel native version that is the most likely way I will keep using it.)

ROB  Is there something similar to this that will run on the MAC (10.3.9) with a GSM/GPRS phone (i.e. Moto A630) connected via a serial to USB interface cable? Essentially, I'd like Moto's Phone Tools programs to be compiled on a Mac :-) -- but something similar will do!!

QING01  Where do you find drivers for LG phones for Mac OS? Perhaps the lack of a driver is why my Mac can not see my phone, but are there really Mac drivers?
