DESCRIPTION
iTunes interuser-Remote (iTiR) was written to get around a problem with iTunes and Fast User Switching. When Fast User Switching is used, if one of the users has iTunes open, then the music is paused when that user is not the active user, and the other users can not launch their own copies of iTunes. This can be very frustrating if you are switching users often, but still want to listen to your music.

    J  Can't get it to work with tiger and itunes 4.8. Any other ideas for running itunes while switching to different accounts?

    ANONYMOUS  hold on, i can do that already?? i can fast user switch while hearing my music in another account and even while logging in. Dunno about u guys but this software says it does something the system already does.

    CHARLES  Well I just finished testing the newest version without good results. It didn't mess anything up, but it just didn't work. I can run the base just fine from any account, but cannot run the remote from any account other than from my primary/admin account. I keep getting an error message saying I do not have permissions. I've not only set up the iTiRusers group, making sure my other two accounts are included, I've also used the accounts preference in system preferences to make sure I've given both accounts permission to use the iTiRremote, (in which the check boxes don't remain checked once I've exited), AND I've opened the iTiRemote with Get Info and made sure permissions are set giving all users of iTiRusers group permission to use. While running the base from one of the two other accounts and playing iTunes, I received a message "cat: /tmp/iTiRconduit:

    Permission denied".

    I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but if I am, I don't know what it is.
