TENKERASU  Okay, this is REALLY bad: I had just figured out how to do my very own .gif animation in Pixen, and I created a character blinking. I fiddled with the sizes, the length, and what-have-you on the frames, and I saved it, closed it, thought I was done. I uploaded it onto deviantART. I opened it again to change the size to make it my avatar for that website, and it not only kept closing on me, I couldn't touch anything I tried to work on, I couldn't resave it, because it would close, and then on something like the third time I reopened it, it completely deleted my .gifs. ALL OF THEM. I had like ten! You're lucky I had them backed up! I reopened them, AGAIN, and it just kept closing on me. What the hell. I have barely used this product, I mean, just for messing around making little tiny gifs that are way under 100 kbs, and it hates me. I deleted it because the program itself was taking up too much space on my HD. Thanks a LOT, guys. You seriously owe me one.

MATTLECLAIR  Yeah! They should refund TWICE what you paid for their software. Maybe even triple!

TOTEN MASKE  I was going to happily download Pixen, but it seems that their site has been infected with an HTML:Iframe worm according to the virus scanner at work (which I was going to download and burn the software to a disc for my Mac Pro). Can't seem to contact Open Sword about the issue with their site.

STRAW000  Pixen is now very stable with the new releases. I use it for making my icon. Also with such details it will ensure that the big pictures is not spoilt.

COCOUA  this is a great... toy

pixen looks like the personal project of a littler genius tha t knows very well whta a pixel artist need, but it still being in progress, its not a sustitute of photoshop (which have all the features of pixen and much more, of course) for professional workflow, but itīs very interesting for play with.

web icons and little square based pictures are now easy to do with pixen

very nice the reptile soft. (not seen in photoshop!)

thansk to the autor

ARGLBORPS  Wow, crashing left and right on 10.4.7 on a Mini with Core Intel Duo.

Change settings >> crash

Change transparent background appearance >> crash

Change Button bar >> crash

Breathe >> crash

Hmmm... I'd not even call this a beta.

WHOPPER  I like the new features, but not the unexpected and seemingly unrelated crashes of this version on my eMac 1.0 Ghz, Mac OS X 10.3.9. I hope this will be fixed in a next release. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this software.

WHOPPER  I should add that the crashing only occurred with animation files, never with still images. Especially switching between cells with several layers each caused crashes.

ANAME  Great update! Only one thing:

When I'm closing an unsaved document, without wanting to save, I get the following doaligue message:

"KABOOM. Could not delete backup file "/private/vat/tmp/folders.501/TemporaryItems/PixenAutosave.pxi".

I had this problem in the previous (beta) version as well. I've tried to delete the preference file and I've also repaired permissions on my harddrive. Any ideas for a solution?

I love Pixen. ;)

JETFIREDX  Absolutely brilliant. I've been watching Pixen develop slowly and the last beta was still pretty sluggish for speed. This new 3.0 version is jaw dropping to me.

Flood fills with 0% opacity color works like I think it should - fills the color regardless of it being transparent. (other apps seem to think that transparent color shouldn't replace what is being filled...)

Whipped up a PNG to turn into an icon with a nice transparent background in no time tonight in a few short minutes without having to bother with alpha channel masks or anything.

Undo function can be a little slow to respond still but I am okay with it. I had no crashes or problems in 30 mins of use.

I can't wait to see future releases of Pixen. Reminds me of the good old days with DeluxePaint4.
