In addition to increasing the perceived loudness, Volume Logic eliminates background hiss and overdrive to deliver a clear, crisp sound. Volume Logic v1.3.2 is Universal Binary and now compatible with both PowerPC and Intel Macs. If you haven't experienced the Volume Logic Effect, try it for 30 days and hear for yourself.

O5220803  Sadly, Hear and iWow tend to over process, iTunes input, while VL remains totally clean! So YOU make the choice!  (Version 1.3.2L)

O5220803  Truly, the best compliment for iTunes around! Sadly, the folks at Plantroncs have aborted VL! It would be nice if Joe Soft and SRS could reproduce the magic of VL. BTW, I am a registered use of both iWOW and Hear, and they can't match the excellence of VL, without a lot of fiddling with various settings by the end-user! And few of us have time for that!

Many thanks to the prudent pros at MacUpdate for maintaining a good copy of VL in their Archive. I've tried them all, and still come back to VL! How about the rest of you?  (Version 1.3.2L)

EASER  I have not found any other program that does what VL did. I currently use VL in conjunction with Hear. I had been using SRS iWow, which is nice but which seems to create a certain level of audio distortion for me. Alas, though, no matter what programs I've tried (including AudioHijack Pro - also a great program, by the way), I have to use VL to ensure that my sound levels don't get out of hand.

To developers out there: Surely, at least one of you can create something akin to what VL did? I cannot believe it would not be a best seller.  (Version 1.3.2L)

JMCCAMB  This plugin works great and does what it claims it does very well. Though this is the case, what I found after using this plug in for six months was that I ultimately enjoy my music better without it. There is no question that music sounds better after enabling the plug in, however, because the plugin strives to achieve a consistent volume throughout the mix the dynamic range becomes extinguished in the process. One dimension of music is extremely diminished by use of this plugin, which for me made me realize that the beauty in music is in the details. A powerful chorus is powerful because it typically is louder and more intense than the verses. After compression or limiting the signal, everything is the same volume thus reducing and almost cutting out the dynamic range of the song entirely.   (Version 1.3.2L)
