DESCRIPTION
Painter's Picker puts an interactive color wheel in almost every Mac OS X application. Find the colors that best match your design quickly. Create and share harmonious color schemes. Have a color wheel handy whenever you need it. Painter's Picker is the simplest way to perform complex color selection in almost any Mac OS X application.
If you've ever mixed paint in school or looked at a color chart in an optometrist's office, then you're familiar with the kind of color wheel that Painter's Picker gives you.
If you've stood in a paint store looking at swatches and wondered how to find 2, 3 or 4 colors that will look right together in your living room, then you'll appreciate Painter's Picker's system for choosing color schemes.
If you've used other color wheel programs for Mac OS X, but disliked having to open another application and interrupt your workflow just to choose a color, then you'll like how much easier Painter's Picker is to use. It just appears right in your color picker.
If you're a person who needs to work with color, and make sure that colors work together, whether for print or the web or computer graphics, then you'll find Painter's Picker to be simple, accessible and powerful.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.2:
- Painter's Picker now supports custom color spaces (such as color spaces that derive from color profiles). It will accept them, work within them, and report them to the user.
- Painter's Picker now officially requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later
- Fixed a problem where Leopard would not report Painter's Picker's name correctly in the fly-away menu of the color picker
- Some UI redesign
- updated website information within the program
- improved the ability to paste the registration code into the registration dialog
- hopefully fixed an incompatibility with GL Golf
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

I see that it's not dead, but it doesn't show up in all apps. (Version 2.2)

CORPSECORPS I should have realized. It's a no-show in 64 bit apps, including Mail. (Version 2.2)

DAVERMONT Great program for choosing colors and color schemes, even better now that it's a Universal Binary. If you work with colors at all (especially for a living) it's well worth the $15 they're asking for it. (Version 2.1)

CORPSECORPS I thought it was a wee bit pricey at $15. Now that it's $19, they're pushing the envelope. (Version 2.2)

MOUSEE Very well done, but as others have said before, it is too expensive. Especially for something that has not been upgraded in almost a year: are we going to get support or is it going to be abandoned by the developer? $10 seems about right. (Version 2.0.7)

OLD JEWEL SOFTWARE Painter's Picker works wonderfully with Photoshop and has since the beginning. See my reply to your comment for more details. (Version 2.0.7)

RHETT Wow, this is like the greatest idea, ever. Very useful, and tons of options! Not quite worth $16, I think $10 would be quite reasonable. Suggestions for improvement would be adding integration with Photoshop, that alone would justify the $16 price-tag. (Version 2.0.7)

BITMAN Well, sort of. It would be nice to be able to drag and drop from PP to the Swatch palette in PS. (Version 2.1)

BIG BRO The dogs biscuits - Taking Painters colour wheel and making it a system add-on was a great idea but at $15.85 plus VAT/Tax is just too expensive. I too have to say $10 'all-in' and and I'll buy. (Version 2.0.7)

FLARCH Even though it's too pricey for a color picker, i find myself using it more and more because it's just so darn slick! I do wish more percentages were available without bring up a menu. (Version 2.0.6)

ANONYMOUS Nice color-picker plug-in, but overpriced. Ask $10 and you're on. (Version 2.0.6)

ANONYMOUS Pretty neat! But I have to be on the side of the cheap people here... ;) I think it's a little overpriced for what it does. I'm not saying it's not worth it... But I won't buy it. And Mail.app crashes %100 times when selecting the pickers help from there... (Version 2.0.5)
