RICHCASTILLO I refuse to use my MacBook without this program. It is no exaggeration to say that this is an absolute must have for MacBook users, as you can throw your screen just like in the iPhone. OSX updates occasionally break it. Not the developer's fault and they have been VERY quick to issue fixes but the pain of not having this app working for even an hour is enough to make me put my MacBook away. Guess, that's a backhanded compliment. What would make this even better than perfect is if I could somehow throw the window with my Wacom tablet on the MacPro. I think you genius guys at Marcoini could do that if you set your mind to it. (Version 3.1.1)

PROGRAMHAPPY Version 3.1 does not work on Leopard 10.5.7 with a 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon. I updated from 3.0, and nothing works, even after adjusting the settings and restarting. Bottom line—I finally had to revert to 3.0 to get the functionality back. (Version 3.1)

DABLUEST Works OK here on 10.5.7, although I did uninstall 3.0 before installing 3.1 (Version 3.1)

F451 Use the Uninstall feature of 3.1, and then reinstall 3.1. That should do the trick. (Version 3.1)

COWICIDE I wish the dev would explain things like sync scrolling to display and such in the help files. I mean, what is this and why should I use it? (Version 3.0)

GCOGHILL Only just upgraded, but had to post to say how much I like the new Hover Scroll feature! Great addition to an already excellent utility. Glad to see per-app settings as well. (Version 3.0)

EASER The developer is not just very responsive, but unbelievably responsive. I don't know of many other developers who get their updates out on the same day as an OS X update. He is just always on top of things. (Version 3.0)

F451 I LOVE this app. The developer is very responsive, and the app is under constant refinement. Provides features that improve the entire Mac experience when it comes to scrolling! (Version 3.0b2)

ROBOTANK Dude, this is a beta release. If you're not prepared to risk instability and other problems, wait for the stable release before you update. (Version 3.0b1)
| Mar 21 2009 |
BRAZIL you would think that if this update was going to cause it just to not work then there would be a link to the last stable version. I can not find one! (Version 3.0b1)
| Mar 21 2009 |
ROBOTANK There is a link on the bottom of the Smart Scroll page of the developer's site to previous versions. It could be more clearly marked, but it is there. Also, I just installed this beta version and it works fine, so I doubt it's broken. The problem is likely something on your end. (Version 3.0b1)

BILL DAWSON Really? I hate it when I steal something and upgrading it makes me have to pay for it. LOL! I really like this pref. My coworker actually bought a whole Macbook for the iPhone-style scrolling feature on mine. Boy, was he disappointed that it was an add-on feature! (Version 3.0b1)

F451 Simply contact Marc with a crash log and work matters out. (Version 3.0b1)

GCOGHILL Has anyone out there using 2.8.8 with a trackpad noticed intermittent/quirky behavior in certain applications? I am noticing it with Safari and a few others. I dropped a line to the developer but have not yet heard back. (Version 2.8.8)

GCOGHILL Contacted the dev, he was working on some code tweaks to support the TouchStrip on Wacom tablets, and the code was conflicting. New build fixes this, but breaks Touch Strip functionality again. Dev said he was working on a fix so both would work together. (Version 2.8.8)

BILLY THE BIKER First, I love this app and miss it immediately when there is an OS upgrade. This version is a little quirky though. Initiating the scroll is jumpy and then smoothes out after a few strokes. Still a must have. (Version 2.8.8)
| Jan 6 2009 |
GCOGHILL Even thought the version number is the same, the 2.8.8 was updated just after the release -- try downloading a new copy and installing it, should fix the trackpad issues. (Version 2.8.8)

Do you have Application Enhancer installed on your Mac? If so,when you click on the Smart Scroll section does it tell you that Firefox/Safari/Dock are in the Smart Scroll Excluded list? (Version 2.8.8)
| Jan 31 2009 |
GCOGHILL Smart Scroll requires Application Enhancer to be installed in order for it to run. And note that the "exclude" list for Smart Scroll is actually the list of applications it is enhancing. An excluded app will have a red line through it's name in the list. The developer is great and if you have any questions, just drop him a line. (Version 2.8.8)
| Jan 31 2009 |
DOUGSTER Hi GC, thanks for your response. What I meant was this: Is Safari/Firefox crossed out with a red line on your list in Application Enhancer? (Version 2.8.8)
| Jan 31 2009 |
GCOGHILL No it is not. Perhaps you can try to add both using the plus-sign button and see if that gets rid of the red line? (Version 2.8.8)
| Feb 2 2009 |
DOUGSTER Whatever I do (even uninstalling Smart Scroll/Application Enhancer), the dreaded red line still exists over Firefox/Safari/Audio Codex applications! As a matter of interest, which version of Firefox have you installed on your computer? I am using 3.0.5 (Version 2.8.8)
| Feb 2 2009 |
GCOGHILL You should contact the developer, as I said he's always worked me through any problems and he knows the software in and out. I am sure he'll find the solution for you. (Version 2.8.8)

Smart Scroll is working again since Firefox updated to 3.0.6 (Version 2.8.8)

Thanks to whoever replied to my previous comment. However, SS does not work in Firefox/Safari/AudioCodex/Entourage, and many other apps on my iMac running 10.5.6. Indeed, when I go into Application Enhancer and click on Smart Scroll it tells me there that the above mentioned applications are in Smart Scroll's Excluded list. (Version 2.8.8)

GCOGHILL Yeah it's not working with FireFox for me either… (Version 2.8.8)

DOUGSTER How I hate it when Smart Scroll doesn't work with my Mac software. I am not complaining about the developer....no way! He does a brilliant job. But, when Apple upgrades its OS (10.5.6 in this case), and it prevents Smart Scroll from doing its job I realise how much I miss SS. Using Firefox/Safari/Entourage/AudioCodex/others, without the smooth scrolling of SS is a chore. The developer of SS should sell his product to Apple! Hopefully Santa Claus will deliver my iMac an updated version of SS real soon......before Xmas Day. Please! Meantime, merry Christmas Mr Smart Scroll :-) (Version 2.8.8)
