DESCRIPTION
Irssix is a fast, snappy, and free IRC client for Mac OS X. It offers easy keyboard navigation, tabbed chatting, color, regular expression searching (line limiting), and an intuitive interface. This beta version does not have all GUI dialog boxes implemented yet, so it may be difficult for the user who has never used IRC before. Irssix is based on the code from the fabulous unix IRC client Irssi.

ANONYMOUS  Still has a long way to go but I really look forward to seeing this progress, hope the developer introduces the option of having joined channels listed down the side (like MacIrssi and Mice iRC) as the tabbed system isn't manageable with large amounts of channels. For now in my mind MacIrssi, still reigns as king of OS X IRC clients.

ANONYMOUS  Good, but in my humble opinion, Colloquy (which is also based on irssi) is more powerful and more mature.

If you don't know about Colloquy, check it out on http://colloquy.info

J4CK  But Colloquy has lots of graphical crap. For a slim client, I like MacIrssi. It should be noted, though, that the developer of this did most of the groundwork that made both MacIrssi and Colloquy possible.

NAMAN  Er? Excuse me? Unless they've released a new version of Colloquy that I haven't seen, it's definitely _not_ more mature than Irssi. Colloquy won't even give ping times. There are a lot of other things Colloquy needs serious improvement in before it could realy be considered a mature IRC client. Right now, Colloquy is an IRC client I recommend for newbies who've never used IRC to start off with. Once they progress, though, I help them switch over to an IRC client that allows them to do more.

ANONYMOUS  Since panther i would recommend to all to not using this irssi GUI. Most of debugging messages are written to the Console and this is not a good thing.

Stick with your beloved irssi cli client or go with MacIrssi 0.5.2.

KENNYSABARESE  This is really nice. it's very basic. keep up the work...you should honor the keyboard shortcuts that the console version has for changing "tabs" and scrolling up and down...

also if you could let users choose their own shortcuts. that'd be the BEST...so migrating is nice...
