DESCRIPTION
MacPilot can enable and disable hidden features in Mac OS X, optimize and repair your system, and perform numerous routine maintenance operations with the click of a button!
Pro user or not, you can now increase computer performance with only a few clicks of the mouse. Optimize your network for broadband connectivity, completely customize Apple File Sharing, perform essential maintenance without having to remember mind boggling acronyms, and much more. However, those are just a few of the many reasons why MacPilot is your choice over Cocktail, TinkerTool and Onyx.
Enable the "cut" option in the Finder, disable menu items for security, disable icon caches, set history limits, erase recently used files, prevent your dock from being modified, turn off all system animations, increase the speed at which windows resize, change which format screenshots are taken in, set a default name and location for screenshots, disable a secondary processor, the startup chime, and even change the login window picture. Over 900 features in total!

MINER In that case the option should be removed, as the Beta probably is extinct in the wild. (Version 3.4.6)

STEVEN GOODHEART Thanks for the addition of the ability to disable Mail.app's option to auto-include names in copied addresses. That's so annoying, and it's great I can now disable it. I have (and occasionally use) Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail but I still find that MacPilot is my favorite utility in terms of the interface, number of features, and ease of use. Also, MacPilot seems to be adding features and refinements at a much quicker pace than these others. I"d hate to have to choose between MacPilot and TinkerTool System, though. They are both terrific. Try them both out and see which one you grok better, but for my money, MacPilot is the best of the bunch. (Version 3.4.5)

OAK I just downloaded the latest 11MB MacPilot update. From hitting "Install Update" to actually using it- 4 minutes 20 seconds. I am still using Tiger 10.4.11, so I would suspect the problem is not with Koingo, but rather with your OS. I have four of their products on my machine, have never experienced problems with any of them, and am about to add a fifth. Koingo Apps are among the best I have found. (No, I do not work for them, nor do I know anyone at that company.) (Version 3.4.1)

OAK The preceding was misplaced. Should have been a reply to Eric W. below. Oops. (Version 3.4.1)

STEVEN GOODHEART Wow, this is a great piece of software. Super powerful and a very, very intuitive interface. Even though I own Tinker Tool System, I had to add this to my toolbox. I love how quickly and easily I can make deep system changes and I love how clear and understandable the the built-in help and explanations are. Really top notch -- just bought it! CHAS_M Love this software, dunno what's up the trolls' butts with their nonsense complaints. Don't like the price, DON'T BUY IT. Simple really. Now sod off. Anyway, love the software, but I do have one complaint: get a better hosting service, guys. Your website loads slowly, and your downloads are simply ABYSMAL. 11KB/sec?? That's soooo 90s. This is not a fluke; I've faithfully downloaded updates every time a new one appears, and it's always the same. Other downloaded updates from other companies (for example, today's Rogue Amoeba update) FLY in. It's going to take **15 MINUTES** to download a 11MB file. I'm downloading 10.6.1 as I type this, and the first 11MB came in in under five seconds. You gotta fix this, or at least cough up some mirrors! (Version 3.3.5)

FLASH1296 Remarkably, under OS 10.6 ["Snow Leopard"] this appl' has only a few finctions that fail - and they are mostly under "system" With the newly updated O.S. already released in some quarters [e.g. on Macs sold in Japan and on some Mac Minis] and the retail release date set for later this week, I am hoping that we will be seeing an updated version of MacPilot. ICONZ113 people need to stop complaining because they have to pay for the app. It seems all the freeware reviews are 5 stars on this website, and all the proprietary software have bad reviews. Stop bitchin. This app is the best of its kind, the only competitor is secrets and it doesn't have as many features. As for a utility maintenance app there are better alternatives This app combines the 2. Not bad. (Version 3.3.2)
