DESCRIPTION
MacPilot can enable and disable hidden features in Mac OS X, optimize and repair your system, and perform numerous routine maintenance operations with the click of a button!

Pro user or not, you can now increase computer performance with only a few clicks of the mouse. Optimize your network for broadband connectivity, completely customize Apple File Sharing, perform essential maintenance without having to remember mind boggling acronyms, and much more. However, those are just a few of the many reasons why MacPilot is your choice over Cocktail, TinkerTool and Onyx.

Enable the "cut" option in the Finder, disable menu items for security, disable icon caches, set history limits, erase recently used files, prevent your dock from being modified, turn off all system animations, increase the speed at which windows resize, change which format screenshots are taken in, set a default name and location for screenshots, disable a secondary processor, the startup chime, and even change the login window picture. Over 900 features in total!

CERNIUK  Neat application, just purchased. Do not like the "can install 5 times" approach.

I rebuild my system frequently and this will ultimately cause me to ditch this software as I will not bother calling them for resolution after my 5th install on my system.

Odd such a little obscure app has such stringent and user-hostile copy protection.

KOINGO SOFTWARE  If you to not delete your preferences file which contains your registration, you should not have to reactivate the product.

CHAS_M  Not as odd as you "rebuilding your system frequently."

Unless you are a very bored Windows user, that really is a huge waste of your time. Macs don't need this sort of treatment at all.

MARK97  I may be wrong but the limited install is for that version. Each time the version is updated so is your number of installs. If you need to install it more than five time there is probably a problem the developer can help you handle.

I think you've blown this way out of proportion.

KOINGO SOFTWARE  The software, according to our testing, is already Mac OS X 10.6 ready. If you are encountering any problems, please report them via the support form on our web site.

Also, if you have suggestions on how to improve the GUI, by all means, do let us know. With over 900 features (100s more than the nearest competitor), you will find yourself hard pressed to find a better way to present the features.

As for the comment about being a Windows-rooted developer, Koingo Software was Mac-first in 1994, and it has been our primary operating system right through today. Our entire staff are running MacBooks and MacBook Pros, and use Windows under emulation only to test the PC computerparts a select few of our titles have.

ZO219  This utility - and what else does one need, anymore - just keeps getting better and better.

I've stopped using everything else I once bought.

Five stars, says Joe Bob, Check it out!

ICONZ113  people need to stop complaining because they have to pay for the app. It seems all the freeware reviews are 5 stars on this website, and all the proprietary software have bad reviews. Stop bitchin. This app is the best of its kind, the only competitor is secrets and it doesn't have as many features. As for a utility maintenance app there are better alternatives This app combines the 2. Not bad.

ROB.H  Works well enough, but when there are free alternatives (like Secrets or Onyx) that do the same thing, then it's difficult to justify the $19.95 price tag.

STEVEN GOODHEART  Wow, this is a great piece of software. Super powerful and a very, very intuitive interface. Even though I own Tinker Tool System, I had to add this to my toolbox. I love how quickly and easily I can make deep system changes and I love how clear and understandable the the built-in help and explanations are. Really top notch -- just bought it!

IGAUCHO  I think the only thing Mac Pilot is missing is the ability to create cron jobs. Other than that it has about every option you could possibly want.

DORF-THE-MAN  Paying for a tweak program is just plain hurting yourself.

There are a lot of free tools doing even a better job.

Not saying anything about the most ugly UI ever. Boy, did the DEV ever thought about this? I mean, this a OSX program not Windows.

Anyway, not worth paying for. Period.
