DESCRIPTION
djoPlayer is a very simple, yet highly customizable, GUI for MPlayer.
It allows you to play DivX 3, 4, 5, Xvid, Vob, real, H264, mpeg-1, mpeg-2, mpeg-4, asf, wmv, ac3, mov... files with the subtitles if any.
It was the first GUI that allowed you to enable the Post Processing for MPlayer (it blurs the usual squares that you see in DivX movies).
The website is in French, but the application (made with AppleScript Studio) is in English too.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 3.5.1: - Updated to latest MPlayer binary (more optimization, bugfixes, more fullscreen modes)
- Automatically check for updates
- Some minor changes
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.3 or later.

GIBLOW This application seems rather useless and unworkable. I got it because I was interested if it might have some simple movie-player controls that I like in MPlayer but don't always get to use with some .AVI movie files. So I install this, and it never works right. First off: don't make "Full Screen" and "Always on Top" default settings. That's annoying and unnecessary. If I want to play anything full-screen, it's usually already set up to run fine on QuickTime or DVD Player. I don't want another one hijacking that usage. Un-check those options for default. Second, it just doesn't work. Oh, it plays the video file fine...until I try to quit playing. Then it locks up and goes into permanent beach-ball mode until I finally have to Force Quit it. Three different times, I tried to play a movie and got a reasonably reliable play--it even had those controls I wanted for some AVI files in the first place. But ultimately, I can't trust a program that never shuts itself down and has to be Force Quit every single time. I don't know if this is an issue with the program every time or just because it's poorly written for a Tiger-operating system, but the result is the same: I trashed it. (Version 3.5.1)

ZEB works fine for me and it does seem to smooth out the boxy look of some vids. would be nice if it actually showed up in the "Open with..." contextual menu when opening a file. (Version 3.5.1)

Every time a new version shows up, i give it a try. Never has been useful as it's main purpose seems to be crashing. (Version 3.5.1)

SOFTBEND Very nice GUI to mplayer, small and easy to understand for anybody. Some AppleScript errors here and there, though. Should handle movies in multiple files. Neat and useful preferences interface. Keep on the good work... (Version 3.5.1)
