Advanced Web Ranking... Checking your web site position is a very time consuming task. For example, if you have 10 keywords that you want to monitor, and you want to check the top 20 positions for 10 search engines, you need to perform about 200 (10 keywords * 10 engines * first 2 pages) individual searches to get the results. Then you need to compare the results one by one to
find where your site is positioned. It may take you days to complete this task if you do this manually. That's where Advanced Web Ranking comes to help.Advanced Web Ranking is able to query over 200 search engines and quickly find out if you're moving up or down in the rankings, or if your site is listed at all. It will track the progress of your rankings over time and display that information in an easy to read and understand graphical and tabular reports. It can help you check not just the position of your website but the position of your competitors' web sites as well.
Advanced Web Ranking has the ability to generate and email reports after an update was finished. Couple that with the Scheduled Updates ability, and you will be able to turn on your computer in the morning and find reports on your websites ranks waiting for you in your Inbox. As a SEO, you can have updates being run and sent to your customers every night
without even lifting a hand. Various types of reports (Current Rank, Top Sites, Web Site, etc.) can be created in any of the formats Advanced Web Ranking supports (PDF, HTML, Excel, XML or Text). Then they can be emailed to any of the addresses you pick from the Address Book, or saved to a folder where you can access them over the Internet.

BUMBLEB The UI is very busy, and very JAVA-Windows-like, which is the only factor that counts against this otherwise fine app. It has automatic, scheduled checking of rankings. The app does not even need to be open for it to check rankings every day. Then weekly you open it up and see rankings for the whole week. It is project based, meaning you can check your competitors when checking yourself, or check all your websites in one project, with one schedule, etc. And the search engine algorithm subscription is considerably cheaper for AWR than its competitor Rank Tracker. If I didn't have a license for SERank, I'd buy this one!

ANONYMOUS Yes, but VSE Be Found is a Classic app. It is true that VSE solicits interest in an OS X upgrade on its site, but it's a jike.

STIMPY All this app does is show your ranking on various selected searchengines, with different keywords. It does nothing else. It does not optimize your website, like VSE Be Found. There's a free app WebranX. Isn't as fancy as Advanced Webranking, but does the same trick. AWB ranking is slow because it's build with Java.

ANONYMOUS It is slow on Java because Apple's Java RTE sucks in speed. Scary considering how much they used to tout Java being the next thing and all, and even moreso having WebObjects based upon Java. Java is not slow, Java on Mac is.

DJACOUMA Webrankx is so unstable on 10.3.9 that I have yet to get it to complete a search for a single keyword :(

FRESHPROMO In response to the poster Stimpy, WebranX is a very cheap imitation of Advanced Web Ranking 6.2. I downloaded and installed the application and the first screen that pops up gives a 404 Not Found error looking for /site/applicazione.php Then 10 seconds into running my first ranking report, the software crashes. Pretty poor first impression. I immediately deleted it from my hard drive. Moving on to AWR 6.2... The word "Advanced" is part of its name for a reason. Having the ability to generate highly detailed and customizable reports is essential to SEO professionals who need to supply their clients with more data than just the basics. The ability to check rankings across all the international versions of Google, Yahoo and MSN Live search is a godsend for me as I have international clients who don't care as much what their Google.com rankings are as Google.co.uk, Google.co.in, etc. Uploading reports direct to a web server or supplying through email is a time saver, and thus a money saver. The one drawback I have noticed with the software so far is the time it takes to check rankings. My last update included 10 keywords across 40 different search engines for one URL, and it took about 5 hours. If you aren't pressed for time and can run the app in the background, no big deal I guess. I have yet to come across software cheaper than AWR 6.2 that provides the same range of data and helpful tools.

ANONYMOUS program hangs several times in panther. didnt want to restart again either. way too slow. and im not sure what its doing? is it ranking me, or telling me where I rank? it was unclear. :( I literally left it running all night and most of the day... to finally finish.. whatever it was doing. VSE Be Found 2.7 is a better program, and more what im looking for, but not for osx yet.

JOEL MUELLER I had a cold sales call yesterday from a company that provided this service and said they would help increase 8 of 20 keywords in the search engines. Their cost was $3,000/year. Just for the reporting side of things, this application is a great deal.
