ANOTHERUSER  R-NameUB.zip is no longer on http://movieconverter.online.fr.

If I hadn't have recently lost my backup copy, I would post it myself. Anyone else have it to post?

MCHERVE  an unofficial UniversaryBinary can be found here. I don't make any support but it seems to work both on PPC and intel. Enjoy (and read the ReadMe ;)) bye

XSMURF  This app kicks ass! I couldn't live with it!

You get a 4 on stability because a universal binary would be greatly appreciated!

ME2  I've been using this for years now: I love it. It never fails and it does just exactly what it says it does.

I even gave to UNICEF: I just wish the reminder would go away. Thank you for such a jewel.

MARC EDWARDS  Even though OS X 10.4's Automator handles some batch file renaming, it falls short in a few places (removing a specific number of chars from the start of a file name etc)...

I used R-Name prior to 10.4, and I'll continue to use it for a while by the look of it.

Well done. A simple app that works.

IAMDORIAN  This was may favorite renamer...until now. So far it scrambled several large sets of files intended for time-lapse sequences. Yikes! Problem is, this program does not allow for sort-renaming based on EXIF data (in this case, camera creation dates). This program was fast and flexible, and FREE. Now, however, under OSX 10.4.3/10.4.4+ (running on a Dual PowerPC PowerMac, it appears broken.

To correct the imstakes this program produced, I had to shell out money for ABFR v7. Oh well. I suppose if I'd sent a request out with a donation, perhaps the developer would have fixed the problem, and perhaps even included the EXIF sort option?

Thanks to the developer for this great program (fast too!), and I hope it gets fixed soon.

PEANUT BUTTER  downloading a new copy of R-name and trashing the prefs (r-name.plist) solved my problems with 10.4.7.

Working again... and I am stoked. Tried 7 other free renaming apps and they no where near as powerful and easy to use as R-Name.
