IP Address Menu... You want to display your current IP address in the menu bar? You want to display your user name, your computer name, the IP address, the subnet mask and the MAC address of each of your network interface at the same time? You want your Mac to automatically send an email or upload a file through FTP when one of your IP addresses changes?
Then IP Address Menu is what you need!
IP Address Menu allows you to display your current IP address (and other information) in the menu bar and to notify you of changes by email or FTP.
- It displays an icon or your current IP address in the right side of the menu bar.
- It displays your user name, your computer name, the IP address, the subnet mask and the MAC address of each of your network interface in the menus.
- It can display your external IP address (when connected to the Internet through a router).
- You can copy them to the clipboard by selecting them.
- It can automatically send an email or upload a file through FTP with all this information and the new IP address when it detects that one of your IP addresses has changed.
- This can be useful for example if you want to be notified when your remote Mac has changed of IP address because of an internet reconnection.
- You can configure the subject and the body of the emails sent.
- You can configure the name and the content of the file uploaded through FTP.
- It doesn't need any installation which makes it very easy to use.
- It is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Latvian, Polish, Russian and many other languages.

MAULRAT who the heck is supporting alphaomega that it continues to exist? this company is the joke of the mac software community. whats next in development ... a $20 program that tells you that your computer is turned on?
i dont get why macupdate and version tracker continue to post these updates (Version 4.1)
RIP0FF Because, as you said, Alpha Omega Software is the joke of the mac software community (Others with a less potent sense of humor may think it is a shame or an embarassment)... I suppose MU tolerates it as AOS plays the role of a buffoon for the site. (Version 5.2)

DOC RENAUD Check IPmenu. It's free, works great, and does the same thing.
JAZZYGUY Thanks to the guy that said use BwanaDick! It works great and I put it on all my Macs! I once went for one of AlphaOmega's "apps" if you can call them that. It was a translator app and it was TERRIBLE! BwanaDick does the job and does it with CLASS! Why spend good money on junk like this when Freeware that does the job better is available. (Version 3.8)
JUKI Well, it's definiteley way overpriced at $20; I can find nothing about IP Address Menu that justifies the price.
I use BwanaDik; it's free and has essentially the same features.
On checking out the developer's website, I found numerous apps offered, but they're virtually all overpriced(at least $20), considering their lack of sophistication. (Version 3.2)
ANONYMOUS Garbage. MenuMeters has this built in (even though you have to click on the 'transmit-receive' menu to display it, but how often do you need to know your exact IP address with second-to-second precision?) and doesn't cost a cent. (Version 2.1)
JIMW I use IPMenu for this that does most of all of this and it is free. I agree with some of the other reviews of this regarding too much for too little. (Version 1.2)
RIP0FF If you really need to check your IP address 10 times a day, there are 3 freeware apps that fullfill this function right there at MU. Just type "IP address menu" in the search field to find them. (Version 1.2)
EXORZIST If you need to connect to your computer from outside the local network (so you can't use afp://computer-name.local ), I recommend the free dyndns [.] .com service which maps your ip with a domain-name. "No more ip"--just use a domain name provided by them. (Version 5.2)
