RI  I know - this app is great, but current dmg seems to be corrupted? When the app starts i get an error message: Tamper Alert

TONYGRAY  Several people have mentioned the tamper alert previously, and in at least one case it was traced to the user placing squidman into a folder with a "?" character in folder name. Other similar unix special characters may also result in false tamper alerts. Be sure to place the .app file in a folder (and path) with no special characters, and you should no longer see the tamper alert.

LUCID  This is a very useful tool for people interested in learning more about squid. In addition for those who would like a basic proxy server you should quickly be up and running with SquidMan.

An optional demon mode would be quite, but then again, you could install squid.

Great Job.

Note : By default most settings and caches are stored within the users library folder.

APPLECRYPT MODS  this works a treat though I did need to turn off "enable stealth mode' in the firewall for this to work :?

Great software, now I can use my ibook (connected to this mac via firewire - dead screen) on the internet. Excellent!!

MACMEND  this is great and in conjunction with DansGuardian makes the perfect internet filter and speed cache.

Using macs at home and want to filter what your kids can see, or maybe at a school or college then this and DansGuardian are perfect for you.

ANONYMOUS  Very nice installer routine. Double click and off you go. I was upgrading from ealier version. Smooth as anything. Now if only the DG maintainer did his updates, I would be fully Squid / DG current.

ANONYMOUS  Great App! Smooth interface which complies(generally) with the AHIG - lightweight, and seemless installation and configuration. Installation and operation is stable under 10.3.6(21 days so far). It'd be even better with a preference pane.

PAUL  There is a preferences pane. the short cut is Apple+,

also selectable from the Squidman menu item.
