DESCRIPTION
OmniGraffle Pro helps you draw beautiful diagrams, family trees, flow charts, org charts, layouts, and (mathematically speaking) any other directed or non-directed graphs. We've had people use Graffle to plan plotlines for a story, make an overview of an operating system, show the evolution of computers, and even show how diseases can spread in a closed population. If you want to organize your thoughts, your projects, or even your friends graphically using boxes and lines, OmniGraffle is your tool.
OmiGraffle Professional has all of the great features in 3.0, plus a powerful toolset for advanced document creation and editing options. For the pro user who's looking for an in-depth diagramming application that's still priced below the competition, you've come to the right place.

DYLAN MCNAMEE I concur with the other folks. I don't mind paying serious money for software (heck, I bought OG Pro in the first place), but this upgrade fee is too rich for my blood. Yes, there's good stuff in this version, but much of it "belonged" in earlier versions (IMO), and the truly new stuff doesn't warrant the steep upgrade price. (Version 5.0)

MARUKO DRINKING TEAM I agree: it's been a good app in the past, but $75 to upgrade is just too high. $49 would be okay. But $75 really does feel a little bit like BBEdit-style "gouge the existing customers quickly while we still don't have any direct competitors". BBEdit encountered TextMate, and soon the price was cut by $100. I think it is time somebody made a DiagramMate (or whatever). (Version 5.0)

GREYMAN I have been a long time user of Omni groups Omni Graffle pro (version 2.x) and have been keeping up to date by procuring new license updates as needed to get me to version 4.0 pro version. Now that the pro version has been released and I have looked at the price for an upgrade ($74.95) I think this will be the time that I part ways with Omni and the OmniGraffle Pro (and non pro) product. I feel this pricing is a big mistake on their part with the majority of the OS X user base that would purchase this product probably owned a license copy of a recent visio product due to the lack of support from any native OS X application. You couple this new price and looking and what each user has paid for either VMWare Fusion or Parallels (79.99) to bridge this gap will make it hard to justify the extreme upgrade cost to upgrade from one version behind. I think $75 is a little bit steep for me not to want to start my virtualized windows xp system to look at a visio document Also being a licensed user of current versions of OmniOutliner Pro, OmniWeb, and OmniFocus as well I will start having to think twice before upgrading my license for any of these other products that Omni produces. OMNIGROUP Thanks for your feedback on our pricing! We try to price our products very competitively, and we believe that if you look at the alternatives in the same space (such as Visio and ConceptDraw) you'll find that our product is priced very reasonably. (And most of our customers strongly prefer it to those alternatives!) I hope that youll take a second look at all the new features in OmniGraffle 5its a very substantial upgrade. But you dont have to take my word for it, we offer a two-week free trial (with full access to all features). -Ethan Schoonover, The Omni Group (Version 5.0)

ABUGIRGES This is a very good app. What makes it problematic is when you have to work in a mixed environment where people use MS Visio. The exporting do Visio does not correctly work in a couple of instances so that you can never be sure that the document shows the same as before. You need to manually check everthing before sending it out. This should be improved... please!! Apart from that OmniGraffle does a great job when it comes to any kind of concept specification. DONMONTALVO Version 5.2 seems to do a better job exporting Visio than before. At least from the two documents I share with my buddies. I guess we'll see as we hit more documents.

I just tried to save my OmniGraffle Pro (OGP) 5.1rc1 (v.137.6.0.106738) document with the document window resized bigger than the actual document (about 1 inch to each side), then I quit application, re-opened saved document, and it opened with the same window size as it was saved in the previous session. No problems. (Version 5.1rc1)

XPLICIT You seem very smart. Maybe that's because they fixed it in the version you use? (Version 5.1)

BLUESTAR Can others confirms that this has been fixed in 5.1.1.-rc-1 ? (Version 5.1.1rc1)

BLUESTAR Yes, confirmed the window placement remembering issue has been fixed. (Version 5.1.1rc1)

BLUESTAR This is generally a nice app. BUT! A small thing really annoys the hell out of me and the developers are not listening. I still don't see a fix in the list of issues fixed that corrects the survival of a window's size setting after a quit and re-launch. i.e., if one sets the window's size to be larger that the document (which I prefer for working with docs) upon relaunch and re-open the window boundaries revert to a default, which is the document's boundaries. This is still working in 4.1.2 and NOT after that. (Version 5.0.1)

NILS3000 I have the same problem here and support told me, that is caused by a two monitors setup. Not only for that reason I am quite disappointed and I am definitively not going to upgrade to 5 (pro). (Version 5.0.2 rc 1)

BEBDABHRHBRWEFG 3R§5Y5H4WTEDSFB ditto on the upgrade price. $75 is ridiculous for the addition of... well, not much really... and a few bugfixes. omnigroup's increasingly greedy attitude is alienating a lot of former customers. back in the day, when OSX was new, omniweb were the heroes of the mac software world, being amongst the first to release quality apps at decent prices for the new OS. of late however their competitors' apps have superceded theirs in terms of quality - and omniweb's increasingly outlandish pricetags will do nothing but accelerate the stampede away from this increasingly out-of-touch company. D9 Yes, I agree w/ others that the upgrade price is way too much, especially for OGP 4 users. The additions certainly can't justify that amount. This has become a terrible trend not only w/ these developers but a lot of Mac developers. It seems any "new" feature (or one perhaps intentionally not added previously) justifies a paid upgrade. It's really stopped me from even considering a lot of other shareware because of this trend. As I've always felt, every developer has the right to charge what he/she feels their work is worth. We, in turn, have the right to decline...and I will exercise my right w/ this program! Continue using OGP 4, not >> (Version 5.0)

ESPIRIDION I wish there was a way to edit and/or delete comments. I was too enthusiastic when I read about upgrades starting at $39.95. Sorry about that. I use OmniGraffle Pro 4. Upgrading to OGP 5 is $74.95. I've been a happy customer, and don't mind buying OMNI's software and paying for the occasional upgrade, but this is too much. I'll just keep on using version 4.
