DESCRIPTION

VoodooPad is a garden for your thoughts. Plant ideas, images, lists and anything else you need to keep track of. VoodooPad grows with you, without getting in the way Ñ no fences to box you in! Type in notes, highlight important words or phrases and create new pages. Drag and drop folders, images, applications, or URLs into VoodooPad Ñ they're linked up just like on the web. With powerful search, nothing will be lost or out of reach. The more you put into it, the better it gets.

VoodooPad Pro is a super charged version of VoodooPad, priced a bit more for people who need specialized features.

So What's Pro Got to Offer?

Document Encryption - VoodooPad Pro has the ability to encrypt every single bit in your document. Go ahead and write out your plans for world domination, knowing they can only be opened with the correct password. Import sensitive PDFs, images, or other files as well.

Triggers - Triggers are a way to script VoodooPad when certain events occur such as a new page being created or deleted, documents opening or closing, files being written on web export and more. To make a trigger you write a simple script in a VoodooPad page, and then assign that page as a trigger event. When the event occurs your script is run. Check out some examples in the documentation.

Item Meta - Assign meta data to an individual page which can be used for whatever you'd like. Works great with script plugins or triggers.

Web Sharing - VoodooPad Pro has a built in webserver to share your pages with friends or co-workers on your local network without any pain. Bonjour support is included so you don't have to hand around cryptic urls.

GETSOMESAUCE  "People have been saying this for years: If nobody's complaining about the price of your application, then you've got it too low. ... Originally VooDooPad was only $9.95, and right it's 30 dollars, and I, um, just keep on raising the price and nobody's complaining. They keep on buying it. OK, I'll do that."

DREMWKR  I find vPad essential. It just gets better and better. The developer Gus is responsive and I couldn't ask for better support or someone to listen to ideas for improvement (a rare thing-Try that with any Adobe product).

¥Its wiki interface does what I need it to, even advanced things.

¥It is intutive.

¥It is cheap.

¥It just works.

GEORGEDONNELLY  VP is in a class of its own. It is an innovation, and the developer keeps on innovating. Its an integral part of my workflow.

I purchased a license for an earlier version and would do so again for this latest version, however I have not been able to reach the website for months. Please check your firewall settings Flying Meat, and allow us visitors from South America please (200.* .*.*). Thanks.

EMIKYSA  I have been using VoodooPad for over a year and a half and I absolutely love it. My VP document has over 2000 pages in it - everything from warranty information about products I've purchased, to notes from calls with customer service reps, to work plans and logs, to brainstorms, to task-lists, etc, etc.

I believe that VP is the 'missing link' in computing. It allows users to easily and intuitively store, manage and retrieve data and information. Before VP I tried a variety of other systems to manage information. I found that using separate files in a regular directory structure was too cumbersome and I found other "notebook" style applications too regimented/segmented. Some other systems initially seemed promising, but nothing I tried was intuitive or easy enough for me to keep using it every day. I was thrilled when I came across VP because with it allows me to work without getting in my way.

I don't often post software reviews, but this is truly an exceptional application. If you play around with the free version for a bit and think about the possibilities you'll likely quickly know whether or not VP is the right application for you.

STRIDEY  As GTFO says, VP's main strength is its functionality. Although it hides behind the simple exterior of "wiki-based notepad," it is flexible enough to be used for almost any text-related purpose (and many non-text-related purposes). Also, the developer (Gus Mueller) is infinitely helpful and extremely pleasant to interact with. Great app by a great guy. I can't think of anybody who should regret shelling out $25 for this app.

GTFO  I have been using VDP for almost three full years and I'd reco it to anybody. It may not be as glitzy as a few other notepads, but its functionality is excellent. Early on Gus gave me some guidance on some custom scripting that save me dozens of hours. Great product, great support, great stability.

F D YOCUM  This is a handy swiss army knife of an application. The basic concept remains simple. Highlight some text press Cmd+L and you have a new page and a new automatically hypherlinked word or word set. The new palettes and tabbed windows just increase its effectiveness. I use it for organizing notes, application tips, contacts. Flexible and free form, you can organize pages and documents it the way you want them.

The developer is very responsive and the program continues on an upward climb usability. I've bought it for work and home.
