GREGS I have been looking for an amortization program for Macintosh OSX. I had used a program called MacAmortize by Charlie Moylan for over 8 years. It printed schedules, let you calculate either Number of Payments, Each Payment, Amount of Loan, or Interest. It is a great program (still runs under System 9 emulation on my G5) but I figured it was outdated. I found a program called Quick Amortize from Donald Perreault and it works wonderfully and is FREE. The big problem with it tho is no printable schedules.
I tried Power Amortize and found it awful. Perhaps it is not compatible with OSX 10.3 (Panther) but I could never get it to function correctly. Plus it had an awful looking interface and apparently was programed using FileMaker. It didn't appear to give you any abilty to figure out the separate variables (as the much older MacAmortize would let you).
Maybe they would be better off to create a FileMaker template (as I use FileMaker quite often).
And perhaps there is a compatibility problem with Panther, but I still can get past the awful look of the interface.
