DESCRIPTION
Mount.app mounts disk images much faster than Disk Copy. Features include:
  • Mounts pretty much any disk image file
  • Handles disk images that include license agreements
  • Can be set to stay open and to automatically hide after mounting an image
  • Can be set to automatically accept license agreements

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.0.1 adds the following:
  • Fixed a bug preventing Mount.app from automatically quitting after mounting an image from double-click or drag and drop
  • Fixed a bug preventing a user from reselecting auto accept license if they had previously selected this and then decided to go back to normal license warnings
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the display of error messages in some situations in Mac OS X 10.2.4
  • If you scroll the license window for one disk image and then open a second disk image that also has a license agreement, the second agreement now be scrolled to the top
  • Added the ability to copy text from the Help Window
  • Added the ability to have the system speak the contents of the Help window
  • Fixed it so that if user cancelled decryption when the password was requested, Mount.app doesn't return an error
  • Startup behaviour was changed for the situation where the preferences are set to hide Mount.app after mounting an image. In 1.0, if the user started Mount.app by double-clicking the application itself, the application automatically hid itself as soon as it was launched. However, in this usage scenario, the user probably wanted to adjust the preferences, so they would have to then unhide the application after launched. In 1.0.1, if Mount.app is started by double-clicking the application itself, it does not hide regardless of the value of the hide preference. If you're starting Mount.app automatically on login, you should check the Hide button in your Login Items preferences to get Mount.app to hide after it starts.
  • Added complete French and German localizations and partial Japanese localization (just the menus; I'd love to have a volunteer to translate the dialogs and the help file to Japanese)
  • Replaced the PDF readme with a simple (and significantly smaller!) text file

D BLACK  Tried opening dmg files with this app. All files were downloaded from Apples website. Have been successful 0 out of 5 attempts. You get what you pay for... nothing.

WAZZAMATTAU  I got *very* weary of DiskCopy's TERRIBLE habit of eating up HUGE amounts of RAM... I dropped it and went with Mount.app, and set it to open ALL .dmg's

Apple, shame on you, DiskCopy is crap.

GATTON  This is neat little app that I didn't think would be useful. Afterall there's nothing wrong with Apple's Disk Copy utility for mounting files. But this mounts them so much faster. Even a big disk image like iPhoto 2 mounted in a second or two on my G3 500 iMac. Definitely handy if you need to mount disk images frequently or just don't want to wait on Disk Copy.
