AVIDMCUSER  Agreed! Rogue Amoeba Rocks! I have purchased Audio Hijack Pro as well as Nicecast. Both very useful with many great features and superbly crafted. Although I am still having some issues with Snow Leopard 10.6.1 with various apps, I am hoping an update from Apple will resolve any crackeling I am getting through 'pitch' filter using external iSight mic input.

Just curious, this update is listed for the 21 Oct. but I have had this version for some time now self updated. Is it a different build?

DENNYMOREJ  Huge fan, love these folks. Great product, thoughtful upgrades. Easy to use. They care about their customers, also evident with that great gift of Pulsar (free to Audio Hijack Pro users) a huge plus for us Sirius listeners using Snow Lep.

LEONCAHUN  On my MBP, OS X 10.5.7, the updated Soundflower 1.5.1 kext (Kernel Extension, System Extension), which comes with AHP 2.9.3, did not install successfully; after the first restart the OS claimed that the kext was disabled and had to be de-, or re-installed. I de-installed.

Apparently, there is a compatibility issue with Soundflower 1.5.1 and, at least, 10.5.7.

Earlier versions of Soundflower did not trouble my OS installation. YMMV.

ZAPH  Given that it's just a bug fix for new OSes, is that actually an issue? Just use the Tiger version.

AVIDMCUSER  My previous comment was supposed to be placed below D Point's comment. I did click the reply under his post.

Anyway, just wanted so say a big THANKS to Roque Ameoba for your fast efforts to support us on Snow Leopard with Audio Hijack Pro. A fantastic app that I find hard to live without. Well done!!! Money well spent!!! PS Same goes for Nicecast.

STEVEN GOODHEART  Huzzah! Full Snow Leopard compatibility and Instant Hijacking is back!

This is one my favorite programs, and one of its simplest built-in features -- the 10-Band EQ that you can add to any program you hijack -- adds so much richness and depth to the the music I play in iTunes, or from LastFM in my browser. YMMV, but I found AudioHijack's built-in EQ (which has pre-sets) to be every bit as good as SRS iWow iTunes audio enhancer plug-in and it has much less of a performance hit.

This is a five-star program with excellent tech support and at a great price. Can't recommend it enough.

JOHN VERITY  This is a superb program, always rock-solid and full of features and flexibility. My only complaint is that its supplier does not provide enough information about how to use all those features. I am thinking primarily of the many audio effects and filters that come with the program, or that can be obtained elsewhere. Some of these, like gain and reverb, are self-explanatory, but others - Side Chain Limiter? RogerBeep? - are mystifying to some of us. Several effects have 3, 4, even a dozen parameters that can be adjusted, but there's no advice or help provided about where these effects might prove useful or how to use the parameters most effectively. Yes, I can imagine there are experienced audio engineers and recording enthusiasts who "get" these effects at first glance, but the rest of us can only diddle and diddle again and hope for the best. Or, as I do, ignore most of the effects. A short, well-written primer on audio processing, or whatever the proper term is, would be most appreciated.

Rogue Amoeba's companion program, the Fission audio editor, is another gem - clean interface, able to handle the largest (well, my largest) files, stable. Highly recommended.

STAR-AFFINITY  What's that got to do with Audio Hijack Pro?

Can you choose what application's audio to record in Snow Tape?

That's what Audio Hijack Pro is about, not only recording internet radio stations. Seems to me that they're two different app with little similarities. Or am I missing something?

ST00P!D M0NK3Y  Maybe you should actually find out what an app is before writing it off for another one that serves a completely different purpose with completely different functions.
