DIGIMAX As someone who loves the Mac and who has lived with a lack of quality investing programs for the Mac, Stock Watchtower is a well written and continually improving program that simply has no peer on the Mac (or windows). For the amount of data that can used in evaluation of potential investments, the price for this program is very reasonable. Users can select from a myriad of possible data fields and filter a universe of stocks down to a manageable list of candidates in minutes. Then, it gives you the ability to view weekly and daily charts to give you a visual perspective. You can set high and low price targets as alarms. For the data massaging fanataics out there, you can also copy the data int excel and have a field day with it. A high speed connection is a necessity because an update download can be > 250mb. But since this program replaces previously downloaded data with a current snapshot of the market, the hard drive space required for it stays at about the same as the download size. Yes, even with a broadband connection this takes over an hour to update, but this can be done in the background. And it doesn't appear to bother other programs running on my Mac. Since the data is being grabbed from various sites on the net, the programmers of this software will have to be responsive to changes in URLs that it collects data from. That is, be timely with updating the program so all data can remain accessible to the program. All in all, this is very good tool for Mac investors. Watch out ... using it can be addictive!
