JEFF NAILEN JobOrder is the most complete business management suite for small to medium size project based businesses. It easily blows away everything else on the market. I'm confident in that statement because I conducted an extremely thorough search and trial of all Mac business management apps for my business, not really expecting to find an app that had everything I was looking for. Not only did JobOrder fit the bill, it was the only program that did-there wasn't a second choice in my search. JobOrder is an ideal enterprise project management app for the time- and cost- conscious management-by-projects approach. The main benefit of JobOrder, for me, is the complete integration of all business management functions necessary to operate and grow a business: planning, resource management, marketing/CRM, operations, scheduling, full accounting, and reporting. You would have to patch together seven or eight different apps from different companies to even approach the broad functionality of JobOrder; and even then you still wouldn't have the seamless integration among management functions that JobOrder affords. I use JobOrder for the same reason I use a Mac: seamless integration (although JobOrder is multi-platform, running on both Mac and Windows). At the heart of JobOrder is a fully integrated system for managing billable and internal projects from beginning to end, including all job/project management functions: estimates, proposals, workflow templates, Gantt charting, PERT charting, resource scheduling, time tracking, job costing, expense tracking, project accounting, invoices, receipts, inventory, supplier bid requests, requisitions, check writing, project reports, etc. Built on the robust 4D database, it also includes a built-in productivity suite including 4D Write, 4D Calc, and 4D Draw, for word processing, spreadsheets, and drawing whose documents can be linked to their corresponding projects and clients. It's a very well thought-out and executed program. Related jobs can be grouped together into 'programs' for organizational purposes and all jobs and programs can be rolled-up to the enterprise level for a 'birds-eye' view of your business as a whole. You can also quickly drill-down to any piece of information you need. JobOrder is the best investment I've ever made in my business: I could not be happier with its performance, the people at Management Software are wonderful to work with, I am more organized and more productive now than I've ever been, and it's helping me grow my business despite the weak economy. Check out the demo. But I do have one warning: Once you try it you'll be spoiled; it will raise your standards for how businesses can and should be managed.
