The PithHelmet adds some basic but powerful content filtering to Apple's Safari browser. The basic purpose is to filter advertisements, but there are other potential uses as well (blocking Flash, Shockwave or horrible midi loops). This is just a quick hack on top of Apple's basic framework, but it seems to work rather effectively.

Version 2.8.3:

This fixes the problems with the newly released Safari 3.1.x version.
It should also fix the problem of PithHelmet silently failing to load.

Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Safari 3.1 or later, SIMBL.

Version 2.4.2 for Mac OS X 10.3.9 only.
Version 2.3.3 for Mac OS X 10.3.8 only.

JACKWEB I'm getting this pop up message when trying to install version 2.8.3:

"The version of PithHelmet is only compatible with Safari 3.x.x" (Version 2.8.3)

	May 13 2008	SYHARRIS If PithHelmet 2.8.3 still won't install with Safari 3, as someone pointed out here, earlier, you can install it successfully using Pacifist. I just did so. (Version 2.8.3)

	Apr 26 2008	MIBRILANE Version 2.8.3 came out today (4/26) on the developer's site and is compatible with Safari 3.1.1. (Version 2.8.2)
