I thought this program was great until it ruined my friend's iPod. Here's what happened. I was using iPod Access to copy several songs off my friend's iPod (second generation). The program itself was located on the iPod. So I started it up, and tried to copy a song. It worked! Then I copied an album, then another one, and then, all of a sudden, after successfully copying maybe 30 or 40 albums, something happened. When I played another song off the iPod, I started hearing some garbage instead of music, then I tried another song (I still thought it was the problem with particular files), but all in vain. So I decided it was the problem with the player, so I ejected the iPod, reconnected it again, and you know what? The Finder told me it couldn't read the disk!!! And suggested initializing it. Clearly, all my friend's library was lost. But there's more. We tried to reformat the drive in the iPod, so we followed official instructions on the Apple's website. But using Disk Utility wonn't give us any results; the progress bar stopped at 5% and won't move any further! The only thing we can do know is contact Apple Technical Support. Now I don't know what to do. I'm not a registered user, but there are many unregistered users, right? And I was allowed to copy 5 songs per time even not being registered. I wasn't cracking the program or trying to use it in the way it wasn't designed to be used. So I just thought you might want to know that using this software MAY (not necessarily will) cause severe problems to your iPod at the firmware (if not hardware) level. |
