CHRISTIANS Pleasantly surprised. This beta already fixed some issue I had. It is still a bit slower compared to Safari but it is on the right path to clear it al together. (Version 3.6b5)

L-G-S Firefox was a very good alternative when it comes out long time ago and it was an alternative to IE 6 and Netscape. Was faster and more secure that the others browsers then. Now is just "another ugly browser" that eats a lot of memory. Also it doesn't really offers any attractive feature. No reazon for use it. (Version 3.5.6)

ILGAZ WARNING: You are giving old version by the link, at least at: http://kyoto-mz-dl.sinet.ad.jp/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0.16-real/mac/en-US/Firefox%203.0.16.dmgs) Should be 3.5.6, it is 3.0.16 I guess that is how people get bookmarks disappear. I am surprised that mirrors keep old versions anyway. (Version 3.5.6)

PENGMAN Had MacUpdate "upgrade" this (I was running 3.5.5) and it installed 3.0.16 and now a ton of my bookmarks and add-ons have been wiped out. some "upgrade". (Version 3.5.6)

KOBALT I'm confused. I know 3.6 is a beta (it says so in the description), but I thought 3.5.6 was a stable release (there is no mention of beta in the description). Yet, when I first started up 3.5.6, the Firefox website opened itself and told me 'FF 3.5.6 - thanks for trying this beta version and let us know how you get on' or words to that effect. So, are we now beta testing both 3.6 *and* 3.5.6 for Mozilla? (Version 3.5.6)

YOSHINATSU 3.5.6 IS a stable release... (Version 3.5.6)
| Dec 15 2009 |
KOBALT Then why does the website come up telling me I'm using 3.5.6 - a beta release? (Version 3.5.6)
| Dec 15 2009 |
YOSHINATSU Hmm... You might be right after all. Mozilla haven't changed their Firefox homepage so that it redirects to 3.5.6, it still has 3.5.5. Wikipedia hasn't changed the version either. Something's weird here. (Version 3.5.6)

MACFOOL Where did you D/L v.3.5.6? Try here: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.5.6/mac/en-US/ (Version 3.5.6)
| Dec 15 2009 |
YOSHINATSU Just some minutes after my previous reply, Mozilla update their Firefox homepage, and it's now they 3.5.6 on their main page. The version they have NOW on the main page does not say it's a beta when opened. You've better download this one KOBALT, MacUpdate must have hosted the very last version of the release before getting out of beta. (Version 3.5.6)
| Dec 15 2009 |
MISHA We only link to final releases... we just post them before Mozilla sometimes publicizes them because they always wait on mirrors and what not before doing a full announcement... (Version 3.5.6)
| Dec 16 2009 |
YOSHINATSU Thanks for your reply MISHA. However, the version of Firefox you had linked to, REALLY did say it was beta, even if it wasn't. That's why I supposed it was the last version before coming out of the testing period. (Version 3.5.6)
| Dec 17 2009 |
MISHA Correct, Yoshinatsu, Mozilla only updates the landing page for Firefox releases once the release is widely out in the open. However, if you check the About box or other version info on the downloads we provide, they're always final releases (unless we specifically mark them with betas, as we'll do shortly when 3.6b5 emerges...) (Version 3.5.6)

KKNOPP Crashed on start-up first time, but after that no crashes. I know it's a beta, but I've never seen memory leaks like this even with a beta. Take care when using. When is a non-Beta release going to be made? I will refrain from making a Review till it's out of beta... (Version 3.5.6)

MACFOOL Nimble with reduced memory usage on 10.6.2 Macbook and Mini. Unchanged in 10.5.8 Dual G5.

YLIANN It is very sluggish in general. Memory usage is up to the attic. This is for sure a bug. Not? (Version 3.5.6)

DAVEBARNES Leaks like a sieve. Monstrous memory leaks for me. It ballooned up to 700MB of real memory. Noia Extreme is not yet supported. Web Developers Toolkit is not yet supported. I went back to 3.5 (Version 3.6b4)

ERUNNO a) Mozilla is not responsible for compatibility of third party extensions. b) The browser is still in beta phase so it's likely that more extensions will be made compatible by their respective authors before the final 3.6 release. If not, see a) (Version 3.6b4)
| Dec 15 2009 |
KKNOPP Not sure the OP was saying they were responsible. He is just saying since they don't work, he is going back. BTW David, I too dealt with the memory leak. Nasty. (Version 3.5.6)

THUS.SPAKE.Z OK, I found the reason why Javascript was being blocked at certain websites. I've got 'NoScript'extension installed in my add-ons and neglected to add the websites in question to NoScript's whitelist. I now added those sites and voila!...problem solved. (Version 3.6b3)

UMAROMC Exactly the n00b mistake I was making after installing NoScript oh-so-many moons ago. Takes a little getting used to but having NoScript with AdBlock Plus? Priceless! Imagine this; Going to just about ANY website with banner and side ads on the regular (ie; Facespace, Pizzaface, Yahoo!, etc.) and NOT seeing ads! (Version 3.6b4)
| Nov 27 2009 |
THUS.SPAKE.Z Yeah, NoScript and AdBlock Plus are definitely a winning combo. Firefox's wealth of useful add-ons, wonderful features and great speed(as of version 3.6b3) make Firefox a pleasure to use; it's now replaced Safari4 as my main browser. Firefox now puts Safari(with its scarcity of amenities) to shame. (Version 3.6b4)
| Nov 27 2009 |
UMAROMC "...features and great speed(as of version 3.6b3)..." OMG You noticed that, too!? I had to launch Activity Monitor to see if it was all of a sudden a 64-bit app! Besides Apple's post-Snow Leopard 64-bit apps, nothing else had really launched that quickly. (Version 3.6b4)
