DESCRIPTION
Hyperion is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for ffmpeg for the purpose of decoding WMA (Windows Media Audio) files. It will take WMA files in groups or individually and convert them to AC3, MP2, MP3, or WAV (PCM U8) format. Also, it allows the sample rate and bitrate of the output files to be set. Hyperion uses ffmpeg 0.4.6. See the ReadMe for usage instructions.

Note: It is not necessary to install or compile ffmpeg to use Hyperion

REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.2 or later.

ANONYMOUS  Although removing spaces from the paths and filenames (both input and output paths), did get Hyperion running, the coversions are no good. I tried a couple of different bitrates, but no matter what I only got garbled sound files. It sound like fastforwarding on a CD player or in iTunes...

However, the app has potential, so if these bugs are stomped at some point, it's great  (Version 0.1b)

    ***..

ANONYMOUS  seems like this little useful helper got some problems dealing with spaces in path / filenames.

it didnīt do anything when i first tried to convert some .wma files which resided in ī/Volumes/HD/wma files/' and were named like ' 01 whatever with spaces.wma'

i did install the hyperion app itself to 'Applications/Audio Apps/' which caused the conversion to fail due to the spacenames bug as well.

after moving the app to a spaceless folder and those audiofiles to '/Volumes/HD/wma' and renaming like '01WhateverWithoutSpaces.wma' everything worked perfectly...

allthough this is quite annoying itīs still much better than messing around with crappy WMP to deal with .wma files.

hyperion is still not very reliable - some conversions just stopped and i didnīt fond any reason why. so if you are familiar with terminal.app get the ffmpeg tool and type in all the parameters manually...  (Version 0.1b)

JEBEDIA  does not convert wma to mp3. actually, it does nothing! it opens terminal and goes through a little terminal lingo and ends. but there is no mp3 file converted from the wma when the process is done. i have tried it with original file names and condensed file names with no spaces, neither worked. it would be a good value if it worked!  (Version 0.1b)
