DESCRIPTION
SafarIcon allows you to change Safari's user interface by installing icons as well as other application resources such as nib files and localization files. SafarIcon automatically downloads and installs a set of high quality icon themes. SafarIcon copies all graphical elements of Safari's user interface from its own themes into the Resources folder of Safari.app. The application previews the new icons in a simulated browser window. SafarIcon also gives you the option to install Brush Metal, Aqua or Unified appearances of both the browser and download windows with optional installation of a New tab button. In addition, it allows you set various hidden, but useful preference settings for Safari that are not accessible to the user through Safari.

THE FLYING FISH A great program as being a business owner who has had staff visiting unauthorised web sites, it is very important to have Safari's history go further back than 7 to 14 days. Being able to extend this is a great benefit. In order for Safaricon to install the icon themes on OS 10.4.9 with Safari 2.0.4 I simply needed to download the icon theme called Safari, which is offered as an option when Safaricon is first installed. The history configuration worked without this download. Thanks again for a brillian program. One suggestion for those needing to obtain more detailed information such as time stamping and tracking duration of time spent on each web site, is to use WorkTracker from www.geocities.com/work_tracker

THE ROTTEN APPLE Mac OS X 10.4.3 & Safari 2.0.2 Works perfectly and it's very well done. Lot's of options and lot's of details. Now my Safari icons stand out just the way I like it! Well worth a look and download! Thanks to the developer(s)!

CHRIS DOYLE Excellent application. Easy to use, and updated as soon as Safari is updated for compatibility. Personally, I am surprised that Apple doesn't buy this and use it as a standard issue with Safari. Essential. I preferred the round buttons on the Oahu and Molokini interface/skin which are changed in this version. I emailed the author, Reinhold, and shortly after he emailed me the theme files for the round buttons! He also mentioned these will be available on his website if anyone is interested (go to the link for "More Information" for access).

JL I've been using this app since it first came out, and it just keeps getting better. The developer stays on top of Safari updates as Apple releases them, and his tech support is the best I've ever experienced. Would you believe a response within MINUTES to an email question? Oh, and it makes Safari look great, too. :)

ANONYMOUS The new/updated themes look great---at first---but then they get black, jagged rings around them. Any suggestions? Specifically, I put together Molokini with the Unified appearance.

REINHOLD Chances are that you have ShapeShifter installed (or some other haxie). If you have ShapeShifter, tell it to exclude Safari.

ANONYMOUS I have tested this version extensively and I can certainly install any and all combinations of appearances, including the Safari default appearance. ANONYMOUS OS 10.4.3, Safari 2.0.2, Safaricon 2.5 I double click Sararicon, wait a few seconds and the message comes up "the application has unexpectedly quit" This is a great allpication in general but the version isn't working for me.

ANONYMOUS Try a fresh installation. Delete SafarIcon.plist in your Preferences folder and delete or rename the SafarIcon folder in Application Support.

I had the same problem with a close upon startup---you might want to move this fix up to the top of the ReadMe with the next release?
