DESCRIPTION
TinyBooks is a simple, flexible, non-bloated, single-entry bookkeeping and accounting system for the Macintosh. TinyBooks is designed for Sole Proprietors, home and other small businesses, and family finances.

TinyBooks is the simplest way to handle the books for most small companies. You enter your expenses and income, and TinyBooks does the rest. Current and year-to-date "on-the-fly" totals are continually displayed. Fully automatic bar-charting of all expense and income accounts make the determination of monthly trends intuitively obvious.

A fully non-modal Reports Window offers easy standard and custom reporting and searching. All transactions are easily exportable to other programs as standard tab-delimited text files.

Expense, income and special mileage entry forms can be printed for "off line" entry of data as desired. Non-fiscal years are supported, as is the concept of recurring expenses.

TinyBooks includes a Professional Invoice Printer, that is as easy to use as the rest of the program. It prints professional-looking invoices on plain white paper. No special, expensive forms are required. These invoices can also be customized with your own logo, fonts, etc.

TinyBooks also includes intuitive support for handling virtually any kind of taxes from any country, including State Sales Taxes, GST (Goods and Service Taxes), PST (Provincial Sales Taxes), VAT (Value Added Taxes) and more.

TinyBooks, based on years of experience "doing the books", is written exclusively for the Macintosh (OS9 and OSX) and is available now.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 6.0.2: A relatively minor update - Added 'PayPal' to the Automatic Check Popup Menu, fixed a bug where an exported Bottom Line Report would mistakenly duplicate the Total column, and added a 'Freeze AutoComments' menu item to the Utility Menu (allowing a user who is satisfied with the existing set of remembered comments to freeze the list just as it is.)
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.0 or later, or Mac OS 8.6 or later with CarbonLib

KKRIMMER  Ditto on having a nicer interface, but it's nice that this is so simple to use and WORKS... I'm self employed and it works great for me, easy to customize and author has lots of workarounds... but please, pretty it up, after all it's on a Mac!

AMPLIFYFITNESS  A well done app. Pretty simple and not flashy by any means. Even does invoice printing! I've been using the demo in Leopard and haven't had any problems on my old Quicksilver G4. Would love to see a more intuitive autofill feature for fields that are used repetitively. If there was a way to NEVER use the mouse, it would make for a speedy accounting app. Overall, if you need to get your financial data in order and be able to access it easily, TinyBooks is a solid choice.

NKINKI  I have found this little app irreplaceable. I work with a few clients who need very simple accounting and this app fits the bill perfectly. Of course there are some things that I'd like to be different, but for $49 I can get clients to be entering all their own reciepts regularly instead of the year end panic that they usually experience.

Its simple, intuitive, and no frills. Just what I need.

ANONYMOUS  I tried this app once. Sort of ok, but it is physically too small and fiddly and pokey and it's hard to find where you can see all the data you have entered. And you have to manually select what kind of entry you are making as you are doing it.

Also if I recall everything seemed to be hardwired to the US currency and way of doing things.

The are loads of these sorts of apps. Too many probably and overpriced. Small business or not I think it is easier to just write up accounts in any spreadsheet app like Open Office or Neo Office where you are much more hands on with everything and can easy make graphs and do a whole load of stuff with the data as well as just book keeping.
