DESCRIPTION
Vega Strike is an Open Source 3D Action-Space-Sim that lets you trade, fight, and explore in a vast universe. As you play, you will see that several species and numerous political entities are present in the game, and they do not all co-exist peacefully. With the invasion of the Union of Dispossessed Colonists,a lesser political entity, the brink of war has been reached between the human dominated Confederation of Inhabited Worlds and the Aeran Ascendancy even as the border between the Rlaan Assembly and the Aera still smolders under a long, tense cease-fire that has failed to become a peace.

ANONYMOUS   This game offers a great deal for players to do and is quite stunning, visually. It no longer suffers from as much slowdown and freezing as it used to, but overall gameplay is much slowed due to having to wait around for spec drive to "charge up", rather than instanly teleporting to the desired location. There is a plethora of good sound effects and various missions to accept. Good game, but just a little too slow.  (Version 0.4.3)

AQUIETMAN101  I got the game, I have 10.2.8 but to change settings you need 10.3 with X11.

If X11 was for 10.2 aswell that would be great. For this disadvantage I have to drop some points.  (Version 0.4.1C)

ANONYMOUS  Vega Strike's a good game overall. The graphics and sound are great and it can be immersive, however, it slows down and freezes up too much for me to rate it that well in playability. Still, future improvements will make this game great.  (Version 0.4.1C)

ANONYMOUS  Great game, very fun to play, however after i quit it it takes the finder about 2 min to get up to speed... and it seems to be using over 400 MB of RAM when it runs....

it needs multiple saves and a remap of some of the keys (F12 for instance, ejects any cd you may have in the drive, so having it set as zoom out doesnt work very well..)

The game stopped for about 30 seconds every time i made a jump, kind of annoying, but not a game killer for me.

it crashed twice during a 5 day period (about 10 hours total)

it needs a way to config it without having to install X11

The graphics and sound are supurb for a game of its kind, and even with its issues, it is still a fun and rewarding game.I am sure that with future development it will become better and these bugs/issues will be addressed... after all, its only version .4.1C  (Version 0.4.1C)
