DESCRIPTION
Little Snitch is a software firewall that protects your computer against unwanted guests from the Internet. But who protects your private data from being sent out? Little Snitch does!

Little Snitch informs you whenever a program attempts to establish an outgoing Internet connection. You can then choose to allow or deny this connection, or define a rule how to handle similar, future connection attempts. This reliably prevents private data from being sent out without your knowledge. Little Snitch runs inconspicuously in the background and it can also detect network related activity of viruses, trojans and other malware.

86203697576  The issues i had with 2.0.4 (described below) were fixed with build 2.0.4.386.

Very fast support. Never really had a problem with the app before, so here's my rating.  (Version 2.0.4)

CHRISDPRATT  This app is effective at letting you know when other applications are attempting to access your network connection or "phone home". However, it having some default filters for standard Mac OSX applications and processes would be nice. You wouldn't believe the number of miscellaneous daemon apps there are. Additionally, sometimes it failed to remember permissions I'd already given an app and would ask me again.

That said, the UI is a huge monumental failure. Once installed, there's no way to stop it from loading at startup or close it. To be fair, in normal operating conditions you probably wouldn't want to anyways, but I was running the trial which *annoying* interrupts you every 3 hours with the configuration dialog and makes you restart it. Actually, that was enough to turn me off. If you're that worried about making people buy your software, use a time-limited demo or something.  (Version 2.0.4)

86203697576  Version 2.0.4 seems to have problems. My console logs report a lot of crashes of the UI agent.

Also, some apps aren't able to connect since LS seems to assign weird process ids to them and can't utilize rules there.

Disabling LS fixed this, but since this is not an option for me, i switched back to version 2.0.3 which didn't give me any issues at all.

Hope they fix this soon.  (Version 2.0.4)

ROBERT COOGAN  A very useful app, I definitely recommend it. But it would help if the developer would add a help feature to assist the user in identifying what is coming form the system itself. For example, I would get these weird popups from Little Snitch when I first installed it. They contained bizarre file names that I didn't understand - but I assumed it was probably the operating system "doing it's thing." Yes, I am horribly ignorant with computers, but if the dev were to add a help or read me file that would identify these popups as part of the system, it wouldn't be such a stress-causer to me - wondering if I just released some bit of private information.  (Version 2.0.3)
