Little Snitch... A firewall protects your computer against unwanted guests from the Internet. But who protects your private data from being sent out? Little Snitch does!
As soon as you're connected to the Internet, applications can potentially send whatever information they want to wherever they want.
Sometimes they do this for good reason, on your explicit request. But often they don't. Little Snitch allows you to intercept these unwanted connection attempts, and lets you decide how to proceed.
Little Snitch informs you whenever a program attempts to establish an outgoing Internet connection. You can then choose to allow or deny this connection, or define a rule how to handle similar, future connection attempts. This reliably prevents private data from being sent out without your knowledge. Little Snitch runs inconspicuously in the background and it can also detect network related activity of viruses, trojans and other malware.
DOUG MATTHEWS running version 2.2 on Snow Leopard (clean install) with absolutely no problems; this app does it's job well and I feel so much safer knowing I've got Little Snitch turned on, I never felt very safe running the OS X firewall (Version 2.2)
JIA123 How to uninstall Little Snitch 2.2 completely from Mac OS X? I deleted the application, preferences already, but it's still there, prompting access/ deny and monitor my network. Someone please teach me how to solve? THANKS!
Teach me by any means, or ways. Email or somehow, thanks!!
RON BELL Such an option would have to be a manual one, or at least defaulted off. To have it otherwise would be contrary to the function of the app itself! (Version 2.2)
LOUNGE DELUXE LS already phones home when you enter your registration number, so I don't see how an update function would be contrary to the function of LS. I mean you'd still get warned by LS that it tries to contact its servers to check for an updated version. And I've never come across an app with an update function build in that didn't have the option to be switched on or off. (Version 2.2)

LOUNGE DELUXE I reckon it's about time now to build some sort of automatic or manual update functionality within LS. C'mon Obdev, even all of the freeware apps I currently use are able to do this. (Version 2.2)
KOBALT I've been running beta1 since it became available and have had no issues what so ever. As far as I'm concerned a LS beta is as good as a final release ... bit like 1Password in that respect. :) (Version 2.2b2)
SAJDAK70 The same problem as I mentioned by version 2.2b1. I still use Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger on my eMac. Maybe a reason of that problem. I don't know… :-/ (Version 2.2b2)
But I have one giant complaint. Version 2.0.5 was the last version that worked properly when logged in as the System Administrator.
Every since version 2.1 to now the root user has no rules, you cannot import any rules and even attempting to use the default rules results with a blank set of rules.
Permissions repair does nothing nor deleting the folders Little Snitch uses . (Version 2.1.4)
DR. GIRLFRIEND Mactechhead, have you installed Little Snitch on Snow Leopard yet? How's it working out for you? Any issues? Did you do a clean install or copy over your rules from Old Leopard?
Thanks. (Version 2.2b1)

RIDOGI I tried this long ago and found it to be unstable. It has matured nicely and I find it to be lightweight, stable and fully featured to control the connections going out of my Mac. Excellent! (Version 2.1.4)
