ANONYMOUS This is incredible if you can afford it. MIDI almost takes a back seat now. You really can do almost anything with the audio, just as you would with midi but it's much simpler. It feels more intuitive, working on the sound itself. Because it's new it's wobbly, so saving regularly is important, but that is getting better. Upgrades have responded to all criticisms as they have arisen, so far. This is the way forward, and will become commonplace, but if you're just starting, go for this product. It and a couple of virtual synths and a sampler are all I use, plus effects afterwards. All on my laptop! If cut and paste music is your thing, so is melodyne. Apparently good for composition work using real insruments too. Anyone who can put up with a few minor bugs should work with this software. Otherwise, wait a while, it will become superb.
