Macintosh Software Search: New column sorting and sidebar filtering!
|
DESCRIPTION
ToDo X is a native Cocoa to-do list application for Mac OS X. Its user interface is deliberately, almost ruthlessly simplified, yet it provides plenty of power under the hood: it allows you to maintain multiple, prioritized lists of to-do items, each with unlimited attached notes and clickable links to web locations, documents, folders and addressbook entries; you can link items to multiple lists and use drag & drop to copy, link or move items between lists; you can search, display or print the union of selected lists. You have instant access to your to-do lists from the dock or the menu bar, and you can create a to-do item from selected text in any application that supports the Services menu. ToDo X can import from iCal, from other Mac or Windows applications that generate .ics files, and from the classic Mac OS desk accessory “ToDo!”.
WHAT'S NEW
Verison 2.2:
  • The ability to drag or paste tracks from iTunes into ToDo X has been restored.
  • Importing a calendar’s Info.plist file will automatically import all of the associated “.ics” files.
  • In Leopard, the Print panel now opens showing the application-specific options.
  • In Leopard, you can drag an email message from Apple Mail into ToDo X to create a to-do item with a clickable link back to the message.
  • Leopard offers automatic syncing of application preferences. Preferences that it would be inappropriate or harmful to sync have been exempted from this mechanism.
  • The context menu for setting to-do item priority has been colorized.
  • A behavior change in Leopard affected the appearance of selected rows in the main window. This has been fixed.
  • A behavior change in Leopard affected the appearance of the buttons in the main window. This has been fixed.
  • Behavior changes in Leopard affected the display of link tooltips in category and to-do item notes, the ability to select or launch links by control-clicking, and the appearance of the pointing-hand cursor when hovering over a link. These have been fixed.
  • In Leopard, notes displayed in a tooltip would disappear too quickly to be read. This has been fixed.
  • Leopard font-substitution behavior affected the appearance of the priority markers, leaving them on the small side. This has been fixed, where possible.
  • To-do items created by dragging addressbook entries or browser links now include additional information.
REQUIREMENTS

YOXI  Rally like this app, the one thing missing for me is a keyboard shortcut to display the dropdown menu of all items in the list.  (Version 2.2)

ANONYMOUS  This little gem keeps getting better and better! It was always 100% reliable, and I relied heavily on it even before, but the devloper has fixed a couple of minor inconveniences and made it even stronger. For example, now if I drag an item from one category to another, the item moves to the new category and I stay in the old one. It used to be a minor inconvenience that I'd have to click back to the first category after moving something but, like I said, that is now fixed. Also, the page up, page down, home and end keys now work. Another minor inconvenience fixed. There was nothing ever really "wrong" with the application, but now the developer has corrected even the minor inefficiencies it had. Now I cannot find ANYTHING wrong with it, minor or otherwise. The shareware cost was an insignificantly tiny price to pay for something so valuable to my productivity.

A final thought: I'm amazed at how often the developer updates this app. I just can't recommend it highly enough.  (Version 1.9.1)

PETER  I've had this app since its inception and it just keeps getting better and better and all for one price. I use this app more and more as as I do so I appreciate its simplicity and power. The developer is very responsive. I've never had a problem. It's cheap at the price. Buy it!   (Version 1.9)

ANONYMOUS  A very nice, clean, unobtrusive app! Extremely simple to use and just the features that are really essential. No more, no less. Does exactly what I need.  (Version 1.7)
