LRKIRSCH  In case you're not referring to starting on level 11 or higher, you can choose New With Options in the Game menu.

INTELLECT INSIDE  It could be better...

Quinn does not do well at randomizing pieces. It will kick out six or seven identical pieces in a row, quite frequently too. It will also hold back on delivering exactly the piece you need to get yourself out of a jam. It's as if it's been programmed to analyse what you're trying to do, and deliberately throw you a monkey wrench.

I'd like to see it throw deliver pieces randomly. Maybe the developer tried to make it random, but it isn't: it defies the odds far too often.

A minor complaint: I would like to be able to assign PAUSE to a single key of my choice. Command-B is too complicated, especially on high (read: fast) levels.

INTELLECT INSIDE  Oops...

Playability should be rated at 3, not 5 stars. The non-randomness issue makes it very difficult to play successfully. It's actually worse than older versions. One would think it would be getting better.

J.W.  Have you calculated the odds? I'd be surprised if this were true. Even in a random sequence, you're bound to have chains of repeated elements. And it's pretty easy to imagine that the odds are "against" you, when they're really just random (at least, as random as a computer can get).

I mean, it's possible that he's got some algorithm to calculate the piece you need and avoid giving it to you, but it seems unlikely.

SCRABBLE_CZAR  Quinn's random generator is as random as it can be. It uses a popular equation which is referenced in the simonhaertel.de forum, and is very well done.

You may get multiples of the same pieces at times, but that is the product of the game being more random, not less random. If you play a long game, it will average out, and the piece distribution can be found by using the console. The Help section on the quinn site and in the app itself detail just how to check the distribution of pieces.

Quinn is awesome!! The best game of its kind anywhere for any platform!

BCPATTON17  This game is so addicting. It is so hard to find a good tetris game today, and this is a good tetris game.
