Wow. Belkin completely blows. Their link to d/l the updated software is broken and gives visitors the default Microsoft IIS "page not available" notice. What's more, navigating through their website which looks like a refugee from the 1990s leads to a page for the Nostromo software that makes no mention of updated drivers.
Apparently Belkin changed the link after it was posted here at MacUpdate, I've hunted down the correct URL, at least it worked for me, at this moment. Try downloading again...
The belkin software installs and operates reasonably well however it's alpha quality. It installs its usb kernel shim in the wrong place. The belkin writes all over /System/Library . This place is reserved for Apple software and develoer writing into this area threaten the stability of the operating system. After loading the kext, your System.log and dmesg will be filled with messages like:
Nostromo: SetAppPrefs 24576
Nostromo: SetAppPrefs 0
Nostromo: SetAppPrefs 4096

As they don't provide an uninstaller, you may do the following as root to get it out
cd /System/Library/Extensions/
kextunload Nostromo.kext
rm -r Nostromo.kext

The Nostromo SpeedPad is a tool that I can't imagine living without. This thing keeps me from doing the Keyboard dance wich speeds up everything I do on my Mac. I use it with Final Cut Pro, LiveType, Soundtrack and a bunch of other programs. It is COMPLETELY customizable. I love that you can set up macros to take care of multi-keyed tasks with just one button. If you do ANY editing (video or audio) this is the best controller and at a GREAT price. I have tried 5 other "Left-Handed" controlers with no luck till I found this thing! I wish that Belcin would make a right handed model with a trackball... then my life would be complete.

Not customizable enough
I got this thing for christmas and I was amazed at how much customization it had ON A PC. When I use thes P.O.S drivers on my mac, I get like no customization, the scroller wheel is almost completely unsupported and the utulity is a piece of junk compared to the PC version. Sucks.
If you're trying to install this on Mac OS X 10.6, and get a message that says that the Nostromo.kext was installed improperly, follow these directions from Apple's Discussion Boards:
I rebooted, plugged in my Nostromo, and it shows up, doesn't throw any errors, so far. I'll post a more complete review when I have more time to play with it. I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.2 on a MacBook Pro 17" Dual Core 2.16Ghz, with 2GB RAM.
