What's New
Version 1.6.1: Release notes were unavailable when this listing was updated.
This app uses Yahoo to post values. It takes its quotes directly from Yahoo. The troble with that is that some idiot after hours puts in a ridiculous bid on a stock the app akes that stupid bid and inserts it as the last closing price. Even if you choose the last price traded in Preferences it still puts the idiotic bid as the last closing price. I have written to the developer about this twice and received no reply. Ticker does not do this and is just as easy to use. I use them both.
Okay, it lacks some features, but the reason why this app didn't survive the first day of my trial: It stopped responding to click events on whatever element more than once. Cmd-Q and restart fixes this, still, I prefer to stick to the even more lightweight but stable and free DEPOTset.
Hello all!
We from danholt4mac in Germany have acquired iStock from infinite-loop in denmark.
Since we released the completely overhauled version 1.5 at the beginning of october, we have today released version 1.5.3. This should document our will to develop and support iStock permanently. This is not like it was before when iStock was a infinite-loop product.
I registered version 1.2.5 of iStock. It looked nice, showed promise, and I genuinely support shareware development. Back in October 2004 there was even a Alpha version 1.3 available for download... with more features to come. That was then, and this is now: Almost 1 1/2 years later I'm still waiting for the final version 1.3 candidate and the update from 1.3.13a to 1.3.13i a couple of weeks ago did make me laugh out loud. Developers charging customers for money should be serious about their apps and at least fix obvious bugs when and if they become known. This developer has done nothing of that. I have stopped waiting and reasearch myStock at the moment... the developer of that software was a dissatisfied user of iStock and has gone on to create his vision of what iStock could have been. I will wait before registering myStock though... don't want to make the same mistake twice.

It may be a good stock trader, but it has lots of shortcomings interface-wise. The major one is the fact that it does not saves window's states and graph's display settings. Everytime I relaunc it, I have to open graph for particular stock and go through all options to restore preferred display. Also - the colors for graphs: if you choose one too many graph's options, one of them will be displayed in white, which obvoiously is useless on white background.
