sshLogin is an application and a preferencePane designed to help users manage ssh-agent and ssh-add features in Mac OS X. It is useful for setting the ssh-agent environment variables at login so that the Finder and Dock inherit the ssh-agent environment variables.

What's New

Version 1.3: No longer uses /etc/ttys for LoginHook, now uses com.apple.loginwindow defaults. Terminates ssh-agent on logout.

Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.1 or later.

I just LOVE this little app. Unfortunately, Leopard broke it. Well, it does still work but there is an error code that appears with every launch. Once you click "OK" and enter the ssh key (doesn't seem to save it in the keychain properly) it works fine.

Does anyone have an alternative link for this application? It's an excellent program, but I can't seem to access the developer's server.

Acutally, I provided this link before completely downloading and testing the file. In fact, i was unable to mount the dmg file after downloading it. if someone can get this to work, please reply here.

A comment such as "installer did not work, major damage" should not be allowed to appear without justification and a clear indication of what went wrong, otherwise it is just a terrorist message!
BTW: sshLogin works fine for me.

I have used version 1.2.1 for some time and this program works exactly as claimed.

I was having a problem with TextWrangler asking me for my SSH key passphrase even though I had sshLogin installed.

This was happening because TextWrangler was being launched from a script being run on a remote TTY, not my login console. Thus, the environment variables that sshLogin had set up pertaining to the ssh-agent mechanism were not present, and so sshLogin was not being used.

The work-around for me was to launch TextWrangler manually first, and then run the script as usual, since the existing instance of the launched program had inherited the environment form my login console...

Clear as mud? :)

This is probably an unusual situation, but I thought I'd just publish my findings in case anyone else was having the same problem...
