Hide-Out! allows you to hide and password protect a folder in the Finder. Now also sets the folders invisible bit which means that its still invisible when you boot into Mac OS 9.
HideOut some times works some times not, mostly not

In our defence, Hide-Out! 2.1 always works! It is Mac OS 10.4.x which does not always update the window to show that Hide-Out! has worked...
If you hide your folder and then search for it with spotlight you will not find it and - after you have made the Hide-Out! folder visible - if you do a search for it - you'll be able to find it again. As a work around to get the folder to show up again in the Finder - double click to select it in the spotlight results.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this behaviour as it is down to Apple to make sure the OS updates the window when something changes. We believe that it has something to do with spotlight and its cache and we are working on a more reliable fix for the problem.
