[ via XLR8YourMac ] USB Mass Storage Support is a set of USB Mass Storage Class drivers to support USB Mass Storage Class devices. Several Class Drivers are already included in Mac OS for its computers with USB, including a hub more...

I have Mac OSX 10.2.8 and after downloading this file was unable to open it. I received the following messeage:

This installer package is only compatible with Mac OS X 10.1 systems. A separate installer package is available for installing this driver on Mac OS X 10.2 systems.

I then phoned for technical assistance at 877-397-8200 and was told that it's incompatible with 2.8 and Panther.

I am having a similar problem with my iogear USB hard drive. I recently updated my G3iBook to OS X 10.3.9 to allow me to use my new iPod shuffle, and now every time I try to copy an m4a file from my iogear hard drive, it jams half-way through and I have to disconnect it improperly, thus losing the file. I'm only working with files that I've backed up so it's no great loss as of yet, but if anyone knows where I can find an updated driver, please post it! I need a Cypress USB Storage Driver for OS X 10.3.9.

SOLUTION !!!
If you want to use your Que ! Drive with OS X.3, you have only to change the case. Buy an external case 5 1/4", and plug your Que ! Drive on it.
(If your new external case is usb 2.0, there is no problem.)

Hi,
I just upgraded my Mac System to Mac OS X 10.3.2 (Panther), but apparently lost my ability to use my (kind of old) Que!Drive, probably because of missing the proper driver.
Before, when I went up to OS 10.2 I got the Cypress USB Storage 1.4J driver which did the trick then, and it said it woul work for 10.2 and later (but apparently not all the way to 10.3).
Can anybody tell me, whether there is a new version coming out?

From the QPS website: "Cypress, which is the company that writes the drivers and made the chipset used in the back panel for these drives will not be making any more drivers for this chipset, so unfortunately the drive will not be supported on OS 10.3 and later.

bottom line: time to buy a new drive.

I had the same problem with my Que drive and was never able to use it. I was not satisfied with the quality (or lasck thereof) of the tech support I get from Que. As a reseult i would not purchase from them again. good luck!

yes you can get the cypress drivers 1.4 to load on the X.3 system -- i just read over this chat you fellas were having and have come up with a solution - 1. load X.2 on a separate partition or on an external firewire HD. 2. boot to the X.2 os that was loaded. 3. open the cypress installer in X.2 4. install the software to the drive containing X.3 5. boot to X.3 and enjoy your external drives and devices with no issues --

Works Great with My VST 6 GB Hard disk. Smart disk who VST has become does not have a link to this on their web site, but should. They do link to the 10.1 version of the Cypress Driver, but not the 10.2 version. If you are looking for a way to use your 6 GB VST USB hard drive under 10.2, this will make it work. It is also Free.

see the message dated 11/6/02..sorry I coppied but it is exactly as writte. (I have an iMac DV 500. I got Que USB CD-RW to mount CD with this driver under OS 10.2 sometimes, but not always. When a blank CD-RW was loaded, it did not mount at all. Also Apple System Profiler would just keep "Gathering..." message on "Devices and Volumes" tab without returning anything
