Does anyone know if the devs are working on getting rid of that white pixel in the bottom-left corner of the screen while Meteorologist is running?

I'm using 1.5.6 (build 1)

Ed, the chap who generally addresses such issues, says that a fix, at least by him, is not in the works

Ut oh, I just realized something... doesn't this also use weather.com for its data? Is this going to go down like WeatherDock and others have because weather.com has gotten greedy with its license?

As of 11-17-2011, this is still working, but I'm wondering for how long?

I'm looking at other weather apps right now since WeatherDock is dead, and it does look like Meteorologist only uses Weather.com as a source. It appears to be working right now, but that could change any minute.

It works fine with Lion, but the UI is clunkier than WeatherPop. I'm wondering if the icon resources from WeatherPop can be pasted into Meteorologist.

It would sure be nice if the developers kept Meteorologist's MacUpdate page updated so I wouldn't keep downloading, opening, installing and archiving a version only to find out minutes later when I start it up for the first time that IT'S AN OLD FREAKIN' VERSION!

This is by far my favorite weather app on the Mac. I've used many others, but this is the one that I keep on at all times.

There is a problem with v1.5.6 though. It doesn't look to be compatible with OS X 10.7 Lion. I've tried downloading and reinstalling it several times, but it just didn't work. So, I downloaded v1.5.5 and it now works flawlessly.

I hope they update soon!

Just go to /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and throw out the file com.heat.meteo.plist . You will just to have to add your Cities back but it will fix your problem.

Works fine in general, but when it starts refresh current conditions, the menubar icon appears as it is updating and will not change back to regular. When quit app and start again everything is normal, until next refresh.

Any ideas?

I too had trouble with Met 1.5.0. Wouldn't open in Mac OS 10.6.3 running on a quad Msc Pro nor in OS 10.6.2. Log says

*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'NSApp with wrong _running count'

I deleted the one p-list preference file I found in Library>Preferences. Is there more than one? Please list location of all preferences.

Thanks,

It drives me nuts: Meteorologist doesn't find the capital Luxembourg since a number of versions. It does find smaller towns in Luxembourg, though. I filed a bug report long ago to no effect. The trick with entering the URL from weather.com doesn't work anymore for me.

Mine too (1.4.8 under 10.5.8).
Hopefully, it's just some temporary server outage--since it looks like Meterologist does try to retrieve data.

Drywall replied on 13 Jan 2010
I'm worried that the data source (weather.com?) has changed something - URL scheme, XML format, whatever - that prevents Meteo from being to retrieve and parse the information. In which case an update to Meteo would be needed...

Kzrt replied on 14 Jan 2010
Once when it stopped working because weather.com changed their server address, I found a line of code that could be inserted with the new IP address to make it work again. Now I can't find that line, but I do know that the weather.com IP is 63.111.74.132. Anyone who can help get Meteorologist working again will be the hero of many. I, too, love this program.

1.4.6 didn't work for my international cities but 1.4.7 doesn't work for me for any cities. All US cities and all International cities are Question Marks. Thankfully I could revert to the old version and at least have the US cities working again.

I have an Intel Mac. Not sure if that has anything to do with the problem.
