Pickup is an application that lists and downloads mp3 files listed in rmp files. These rmp files are among others used by EMusic.com to allow you to download entire albums with one click. With iTunes 3 you can already play those files, but not save them to disk. Pickup will do this, at your preferred location, organized in Artist and Album folders and properly renamed to the track's number and name.

This is an extremely well designed app. It's obviously made by someone who knows Mac OS X and how its interface works. It's also robust at this version (1.3); I have it set to unlimited concurrent downloads (I love University internet connections) and it hasn't crashed after many downloads. It literally saturates my 10Mbps ethernet.

I'm glad to support emusic.com because of this software.

This program is nearly exactly what I was looking for in an RMP downloader. What did I have trouble with? I tried to make it a default handler for RMP types in Mozilla, but all that happens is Pickup X opens, but doesn't seem to see the "incoming" file. Also, I had an RMP file on my desktop, and I dragged-and-dropped it into Pickup, but nothing happened there as well. The only disadvantage of this program is that you have to manually open the file in Pickup after you've downloaded it. Like TafkaR (aka RuMPsucker) can do -- although it seems to me that Pickup is faster than TafkaR because of the multiple connections feature.
