Switcheroo is a slim taskbar for the Mac that can be used in conjunction with the Dock or as its replacement.

It hides background programs automatically, supports drag-and-drop, and has the ability to launch and quit applications.

Added hiding/collapsability feature. Referred to in preferences menu as "Hide/Reveal Taskbar".
Fixed some interface bugs.
Fixed interface bug that occurred when opening applications that take a while to load.
Performance tweaks.

The registration window says version 3.0, the binary says 6.0 with a copyright of 2005

Either way, it's too bad development stopped, this seams like it could of had some promise.

Also, the developers website seams to be down, but the download isn't?

I like the look of this, but the current release is missing a number of things. Hopefully this is still in active development as it hasn't been updated a fair while!

Two options are missing :
- Remove the dock.
- Application's status (like a blinking when an application need something or like a new message in iChat)

A very elegant copy of the Windows Taskbar and very useful too. A little short on features at the moment, fairly stable and it show a lot of promise. Keep up the good work.

Some well implemented features but it gives me unpleasant flashbacks to my Windows PC at work. :)

I guess that might make it a great app for people who need to switch between operating systems a lot or are just getting used to the Mac.

I was searching around for a dock replacement and this looks great however software.holymac.com doesn't seem to exist. The download doesn't work!

I have found that the Dock is sometimes a stumbling block. Therefore, Switcheroo is a great alternative. But it took me a while to find this wonderful utility. Version 2.0 works well under my Jaguar, and even better for my Classic. Due to Switcheroo, my Classic and Aqua can play together without a hard boot into Classic. This is a wonderful thing because the fact that I have some major apps that can only launch in Classic. Big thanks to Mr. Carson...

What happened to this wonderful little utility...I used Switcheroo back in the days of Jag, and miss having it under Panther. Switcheroo is better than Autohide...and Expose. For some reason the developer, Carson Baker seemed to stop work on Switcheroo...and Carson no longer has a valid website posting. Pity indeed :-(
