Likewise, I find the d145 and HP in general to be totally unacceptable! The latest driver does not work worth a damn on Panther. I give-up but I can't afford to run right out and buy Epson... Maybe some un-informed sole on ebay will buy this pile.

I just purchased a HP d145 and installed it onto my machintosh G3 minitower, upgraded to a G4 with lots of ram and a OrangeLink+ USB2/Firewire card. Using Mac OS9.2.2. Previously I used a microtek scanner on the usb port and was able to scan into all of my Adobe products (Acrobat, Photoshop, etc) but only one copy at a time. Twain acquire from within an application only happened once then the HP plug-in disappeared and was never found again. I wrote HP and they don't care about the problem. I wish that I had not relied on HP's repretation but had looked on this site first.

Stay away from 4.6.3 if you're on Jaguar. I have yet to get this printer working in such a way that it doesn't cause OSX to crash. I cannot convey the frustration it has caused. And HP doesn't care (the general attitude I have gotten from their so called tech support). I will definitely be buying a Canon or an Epson next time.

See this article on HP's site: http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/document.jhtml?reg=&cc=us&lc=en&docName=bpm30189

Somebody has asked why this was posted as new. The reason for me to propose theupdate to MacUpdate was that they still listed some even older 4.2.x version.
My personal hope is that HP somehow manages to bring out a 5.0.0 version soon for the HP PSC 900 (a great concept) - or that HPOJ for Mac becomes available to the public.

Disgraceful. I've had an HP AIO with "OSX Driver" for over a year now and it has NEVER worked properly - Even basic functionality has been flawed. Now they release a driver which is supposed to finally work and 10.2 breaks it again! Do Apple and HP ever talk? It's the last thing I ever buy of theirs, although I'd hardly exect them to be concerned about it.... :)

May I ask why this is even listed as an update released today? This "update" is old news.

Stick with the previous version. This one adds many more OS 9 bugs than it was suppose to fix.

Major wake-up and intilization bug is still there
