The combat manager is nearly perfect, but it is also what I have a little problem with; I cannot seem to be able to make creatures do skill checks in it. Also, there is no map for visualization of the combat. A very simple map with very simple graphics could make it easier for me as a DM as I/we have never (and will never) use(d) miniatures. This is what keeps the features from getting a five, and lands on a 4. And I feel the different skill checks are so important they, too, cause the main rating to drop.
What's more on features, XP division works perfectly, but only if your party is all in one level. If there is level differences you need to calculate manually. Not an issue for me and my players, so as far as I am concerned it does not matter.
Graphics and sound get a 5. They are not beautiful, but simple and the simplicity serves the application's function as a DM tool, allowing the DM to focus on the game at hand instead of aesthetical details. Nice.
Stability, 5. It has never given me any problem. Neither on my old Powerbook, nor on my new intel-based one.
Playability 5. It is easy to use yet holds powerful features and loads of potential in the hands of an apt DM.
All in all, this is _THE_ best DM tool I have tried. I love it and warmly recommend it. It is well worth the asking price.
