Palm4Fix fixes an error in which some users were unable to sync their Palm devices with Mac OS 9 due to an error "#1852402768".
What's New
Version 1.2.3 fixes the following:
If previous versions timed out on startup (rare), it could break Palm Desktop 4 and report "It appears Palm Desktop 4 is not installed properly on this system, or you are trying to run this in Classic." from then on. Now it will repair PalmDesktop 4 on the next use.
The "Auto" version will load last in your Startup Items folder to prevent timeouts.
Slight modifications to the installer (plus the latest version)
Modified patch to run slightly faster (at least in my testing it appears faster).
Cleaned up ReadMe a bit (not important but just so you know that I did it)
Included "License" (this day and age it's necessary).

This quickly solved a horribly frustrating problem! After following recommendations from Palm support, I accidentally deleted or uninstalled lots of vital stuff!!! After about 10 hours of frustration, Palm support finally recommended Palm4fix. It worked great! I wish I had found this sooner!

I just installed the fix and used it once and it worked. Hope it continues to do so. Thanks alot. And I certainly hope Palm fixes this soon. Looks like not since it is now January 2003 and your versions go back to the summer of 2002.

I got the system error but it can be fixed by dragging the hotsync extensions to the desktop and then reinserting them into the system folder.

The Fix is not working on my machine (iMac, OS 9.0.4). I still get the 1852402768 error. Will switching to OS X 10.2 help?
Thank you for this great little program. I am absolutely amazed that I would have to suffer through the frustrations caused by the bug, then have to email Palm Support to learn about it. So much for Palm's attempts to be customer-friendly

Works great! You'd think that Palm would have it on their download site.
