The source code is also available.

You're right, it's not, but this program can be set up to gzip as well as tar -- it makes .tgz archives in one swoop. It's great.

This is great! A simple and easy to use app that does what it's supposed to. It works fast and smoothly, and the compressed files are less than half the size of the original. I used it to compress some jpeg images. They transferred successfully via email and ftp.

Thanks for this useful freebie!
