ShowOff overview

ShowOff displays your current uptime (how long your mac has been turned on), which is good for impressing your windows using friends, who has to restart every few days or even hours (that's my experience at least). It's very basic, does nothing more than described above, but I will improve on this in future versions

The "upload" gets on the same line as "record"... the previous version made issues display separately on different lines. Otherwise it is a great app, I love it!

Glad to hear to many people like this little gimmick. I've never heard of the problem with erasing the uptime record and can't reproduce it on my machine either. If more errors surface, please write a mail to me so I can investigate and post a fix. Thank you.

Does anyone think it's ironic that a program devoted to the stability of macs crashes all the time?

I've had the same issue of crashes when clearing the record cache. I really like the idea. If you remember the old days when you tracked your uptime by hours instead of days, it's really neat to see how long a MacOSX machine can keep going and going and going...

It doesn't look to great but is completely customisable. I have no use for it but it is interresting to look at sometimes.

still has bugs. cant click on save, clear record crashes sys. preferences, etc. A good thing to add would be the ability to change "Uptime" to something elese like "this computer has been on for:" of somthing like that.

what do the CPU usage numbers represent? I'm not sure how to interpret them.

I'll use that to tease my "IBM Notebooks are best" co-worker.... Very cool. Maybe a "Your windows friends have rebooted X time since you last restartet your Mac" display would be nice to add...
