PowerGuardian monitors a connected UPS (uninteruptable power supply) and if the power event is sustained, safely shuts down your computer, even saving your open files and work-in-progress.
PowerGuardian works with UPS's from most popular manufacturers (Belkin, APC, Powerware, Best Power, Tripplite, CyberPower, BlackOut Buster).
With the addition of a USB-to-Serial Converter from Keyspan, PowerGuardian will work with a wide range of serial UPS products; you are no longer restricted to the few models that support USB.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.1.2 or later.

Sadly the website of product and the download link is defunct. From another site's comments, I think the developer gave up releasing (and selling) the product just because Tiger (10.4) added completely basic, only compatible with APC support for UPS. That is not a good reason to give up your releases, if that basic functionality was enough, Megatec and UNIX "nut" wouldn't be around.
Anyway, dead link, dead product. I also noticed this software name dates back as early as NeXT.
