I want it to work so bad, but it doesn't. I am running it on a Powerbook G4 with Tiger. I have 1 gig of memory and the fastest processor for the Powerbook out. 1.67. I change the settings, but nothing seems to be working. All I want is to be able to capture direct to compressed video. Even if I get the codec I want it still does not do the the Data rate control so I am still at DV quality and rate. No COMPRESSION is happening. I tried contacting customer support but no response. I can't recommend because it doesn't do what it says it does.

Reply to Can't Capture Compressed Video on PB G4

Capturing compressed video requires QuickTime Pro. QuickTime is a container for many types of video and audio compression capture and playback codecs.

The QuickTime Pro registration key $29.95 can be pruchased directly from Apple's website, and will unlock the advanced features in QuickTime.

I don't like it much personally. No matter what I've done, how I've installed it, as soon as you register the software, it crashes all the time. My prefferred use is time lapse, but I can never get a full day of pictures out of it no matter what I do. At best, I've gotten an hour out of it. Even logging into the root user it will crash, so it's not a permisssions issue. I've also tried saving to the startup drive, external fire wire drives, no change. I'm currently experimenting with iStopmotion. Its the same price, doesn't do as much, but it seems much more stable.

Great software - the OS 9 version is steller. The OS X version has interlace issues at all screen sizes, and an annoying hiss from the audio. Switching the sample rates have no effect.

My computer is only a G4 400, so it may be too much under Jagaur for this version.
