Very nice for a 1.x.x version and the fact they are really responding with significant improvements quickly.
Of course the nitpicking and wining will continue no matter what Apple does.

I never wanted a trial of FCP in the past because it was beyond my abilities, now that some describe it as "iMovie Pro" I am interested.
@Matthew thanks for the link, I assumed since it's on the App Store and Apple's policy about no trial versions on the App Store that there wouldn't be one. I was wrong and I appreciate the link.
@Shmack That's a pretty broad judgment of another human being based solely on four words. I hope no one does that to you.

But then again, I am used to iMovie. For me it is great step forward.
Never used the previous Final Cut Pro though.

And now that faq is gone from the website. If someone finds it, feel free to post the new link. This is just sad.

Sure is fast, though.

You see - even if Apple restored EVERY SINGLE ONE of the missing features from FCP7 tomorrow, the stark reality is that you now know that Apple is capable of doing this to you again, 2 years, 3 years, or 5 years down the track. So you cannot rely on them anymore, it is as simple as that. It is no longer about FCP, it is about APPLE and how they act as a company. They can release as many damage control faqs as they like - but the truth is they blew it in respect of how anybody will view ANY of their products as a long-term productivity companion that can be trusted to be an investment worth making.
I said to a friend, this is something like coming home and finding your wife in bed with another man. It just won't ever be the same again.
I've already started looking at Premiere Pro - apparently that can import FCP7 projects and even map the keyboard like FCP. That makes it more FCP than FCPX in my view; how ironic.
FYI, I know 6 different editing apps including Avid and Quantel, have 20+ years editing experience (mainly broadcast), have worked on just about anything you can imagine, and own mostly Macs. I even was an Apple II user in the early 80s. I consider this the worst mistake Apple have ever made. It tells you all you need to know about whether or not to rely on them. Use this software at your peril - there are many other companies out there that will never do to you what Apple did to a large proportion of their most loyal userbase a month ago.
