1) the developers have been sistematically squashing bugs and increasing the feature set of the application.
2) the Revolution community has been nurtured by the makers, and the happiness shows - at least for a newbie like me. It seems incredibly active, welcoming and helpful, and the developers participate actively in it.
3) the developers have listened to customers complaints about cost, and have brough the price down.
I admit, that I had given up on Revolution - 'round about version 2 - but this new version 3 made me want to use it again. I think now I don't really have an reasonable excuse not to renew my old license...

Apologies for my post above are in order, because it was my fault for not knowing when my plan expired. Sorry...

Such a policy makes me long for HyperCard for OS X, a longing never to be fulfilled.

Actually, I didn't find solutions to make a *real* crossplateform software... :-(
Please, have a look very soon for a better management of clipboard. :-)

A more reasonable system would be to follow the example of Adobe, for example. I can skip several versions of photoshop, and still get an upgrade price. Not so with Revolution. I have stopped using Revolution. I can't afford it!

The only way to avoid these upgrade problems is to buy the renewal pack which gets you free updates for one year. However, even the renewal pack is not inexpensive.
As one of the earlier posts said, I can't afford to pay these prices for upgrades, especially when the upgrade is within version 2 rather than from 2 to 3.
