I installed it. It said it was installed ... and I could not find the application anyware to launch it.
Then I uninstalled and it did in 2 seconds.
Of course there was no documentation to try understanding how to locate and launch this thing.

Joke or fntom app.

This thing ha a terrible security flaw.

Run System Optimizer X and authenticate when it asks you to. Then run the repair permissions thing. Open up a terminal and run 'ps -a'. Notice your password appears in plain text. Anyone on the system can run the ps command and also see your password. This needs to be fixed.

Example:

inverted-urchin:~ user$ ps -a
PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND
1986 p7 Ss+ 0:00.03 -csh
2015 p8 Ss+ 0:00.01 sh -c echo 'MYPASSWORD' | sudo -S diskutil repairPermis
2017 p8 S+ 0:00.44 diskutil repairPermissions /
2020 std Ss 0:00.02 login -pf eringraham
2021 std S 0:00.02 -bash
2023 std R+ 0:00.00 ps -a
inverted-urchin:~ user$

Version 4.7 is the last version I've been able to use. I get an error 1000 when trying to launch the app. If I extract it with Pacifist I get the same thing. What's wrong here? OS 10.2.8

Follow-on from above - whenever I have used the maintenance scripts on this app I have to repair persmissions with disk utility every single time. It has now induced a kernel panic on iBook G4 Tiger. Sorry, but this is more trouble than it's worth and a waste of money as far as I am concerned - trashed. Back to macjanitor.

Figure it out. Maybe you have money to waste.

After installing this app and running the cache emptying option, fast user switching has stopped working on my system (G4, Tiger). Also, I now have to log in after restarts and shutdowns whereas before I installed this app I was able to log in automatically. Any ideas?

Hey guys its me again!

Still had to do the workaround for 4.7.2, for OS 10.2.8 Jaguar. Once you follow it step by step. the upgrade should be easy. Mr. Davis has a great App. Don't prejudge it because of a bad file, namely the preflight file.

I also read that the issue will be fixed as of 4.2.3 when its released.

MKD's site is back up, but still no word from Morgan re: previously posted installer crash issue

Installer continually failed. Have sent two emails with Crash Log report over the past week to Morgan at MKD software via the support address with no response. Now I see MKD's website has been suspended by the host.
Doesn't bode well for getting a resolution, does it?
